What about the media coverage for Harvey Weinstein or Roger Ailes? Lets not forget without media coverage the Mumbai Police got away with not registering an FIR for 70 days. Not sealing the crime sight. More than likely running a sham investigation and trying to close the case as soon as possible. It was media coverage in this case that got us a proper investigation. It was media coverage in the Jessica Lal case that got the right verdict. Media has the right to hold the authorities accountable when they are guilty of abusing their power. They are the only ones that can hold a corrupted establishment accountable when they are bias for one side. Udaav Thacherey revealed a lot about what side he supports by denying a CBI inquiry. There is clearly an establishment that needs to be held accountable by the press. An essential pillar of democracy because of its job of holding the corrupted authorities and establishment accountable. And that does not prevent justice in any way or form. Gawaru Akhtar.

Let me explain it to your gawaaru brain in case it does not understand already. The idea of subjudice began in England back when England back when there was a jury system there and India. Right now there is no jury system in India. The jury system entailed common people with no legal understanding that can be influenced by the media propaganda. Currently in India, an educated judge decides the verdict of the case that too citing precedent and legal statues in a way everyone educated about the law can understand. The only reason to fear media propaganda in India is if there is real propaganda that can expose the dirty details of the entire industry. No one in media is saying you need to declare her guilty without all the evidence being laid down? This is an effort to suppress the public uproar and resentment built up for Bollywood by attacking freedom of the press. Also prevent dirty secrets of your Dawood boot licking family from coming out.

America still has a jury system. BUT they still do media trials for high profile cases. Adults are mature enough to take what makes sense and leave what is fake news that is just sensationalized. Public trials are a reality every public figure has to deal with. We are sorry you have too many secrets to hide in your family.
