I haven't ventured into the threads you all are talking about but I feel like I have seen enough in the past few weeks to know what is being said and by whom. This is just my two cents on this. I feel a lot of folks out there including some of the celebs who are speaking out are looking at this case from a political lens. And it is that that is deciding their opinions. I find myself in such a weird position because I'm left leaning, oppose everything that the right wing stands for, don't even consider some of the "journalists" who are covering the case journalists yet I find myself supporting Sushant and his family. And I think it's precisely because my politics is not interfering with the way I'm looking at this case. I have followed it for weeks now and said it for just as long that I believe Sushant was a victim of an abusive relationship. I also wish his family would have used that term because everything out there suggests it was abusive. They have used terms like gaslighting, it's apparent every aspect of his life was being controlled by Rhea, he became estranged from his own family and friends soon after he met her yet I haven't seen anyone use the term abusive so far.
I feel the conversation has become so black and white and there is hardly any space left for nuance. I believe he was struggling with a mental health issue. But people struggling with mental health issues can be exploited too and I wish some of the folks out there who claim they give a damn about the cause were to realize that.
Anywho...I'm staying out of the threads you folks are talking about precisely because I don't want to waste my time and energy on opinions that are not even being made in good faith. It ain't like most of these people give a damn about him or his family or the cause of mental health so why engage and waste your energy on such opinions. I don't have an issue with different opinions, I do have an issue of they are being made in the garb of caring about some of the things I just stated.
