Not sure why but I always found that she never had obsession with Paras. It was just a casual liking because of simar cultures. Many punjabis have that regardless of gender. Apnapan kinds. I have seen that in my punju side of family.

The misunderstanding was created by Fifi and then Paras tried to manipulate it to his advantage. It took Sana time to see the depth of what Paras was saying. She always thought that Paras liked her but Mahira was pulling him back because Mahira loved Paras and was never wanted to say in open. This is the reason she kept the attachment jaap with Paras. When Sid tried to explain her in initial episodes, he realised that explaining wasn't working with her so, he stopped.

Sana has her own ways of testing people which sometimes look weird to others but it is her way. She saw later Paras's real side herself.
