Agree with Nado, children are a product of our upbringing, if the parents do everything for a child and fulfill every whimsical wish too, cover up for their faults and apologize or give in, in the interest of peace, apart from giving good education and other comforts, the child feels entitled. A child should learn how to take no, how to face rejection early in life, a child should hate you once in a way, which is a sign of good parenting. If the child thinks parents are a ladder to climb up and use, their behavior towards parents would be condescending. I know in America and Europe too, social security is strict, agree with some aspects about not beating a child😲( would hate to beat any adult offender too, it's brutal ) but nothing wrong in admonishing a child.

Respect for woman is varied, there are so many cultures in India, some clans are overtly patriarchal while others empower their women. A society progresses the most when women are respected and empowered.👍🏼
