I am a bengali and we celebrate Durga puja not navratri.It coincides with navratri and starts from 6th day.

No I don't fast during pujas.But mothers keep fast on the first day i.e Shasthi for the well being of the children.And in some places married ladies keep fast on Ashtami too.

oh so ur first day is on shasthi 😲... that's very different from us

mai to sirf 1st and last (ashtami) ko hi fast rakhta hoon ...but wo bhi kaahe ka fast... singhare ya kutu ke aate ki puri to kha hi leta hoon with some boiled potatoes 😆😳 (i like vrat wala khaana) 😛
