What's going to go against Ayaan and what's going to help Maya's case :- Ayaan was under the influence of alcohol.
- Ayaan mouthed all of the suggestive words that indicate towards a possible rape attempt to be made.
- Ayaan threatened verbally, pushed Maya around physically assaulted her.
- No witnesses to support him, Arjun was locked up in his room while Jhanvi is paralysed. Whether or not she saw what actually happened, it's not going to make a difference because she can't testify unless there's a legal procedure that lets mute witnesses to testify somehow?
- Condition of of the house, things and furniture thrown around.
- Maya's condition, clothes torn, possible physical injuries due to being pushed around and her claims about Arjun being an abusive husband, that roughly supports her claim that his family members could be volatile towards her as well. Add to that all the times affairs of Sharma house were at public display.
The things Ayaan was truly at fault :
- Showing up Maya's residence in a drunk state, not taking anyone else along with him (either family members or police), being adamant about searching Arjun while he wasn't in complete senses in the first place.
- Physically assaulting her, intimidating her and borderline suggestive threats.
- Tearing her clothes part (even if accidentally)
- Not calling the cops or anyone else when he saw Arjun tied up in his room and Jhanvi locked up in her room.
- Opportunity to have left the house at various chances.
- For the sheer stupidity and mindlessness he showed.
The things Ayaan didn't want to and didn't do :
- Actually rape Maya or even make an attempt to.
The things Maya was at fault for :
- Pointed out in the above posts.
Witnesses :
Jhanvi - Possibly witnessed the real incident (that is if this episode was meant to confuse the audience and if this was not what happened or if there was more to it, don't know why she didn't intervene if she did) but anyway not of much or any use because she's paralysed. Looked unsympathetic to her own daughter's plight, seemed sceptical.
Samay - Might have witnessed something about the incident or might have witnessed it all only choosing to enter at the right moment. It could go two ways with regards to him. He's either completely on Maya's side, might have acted upon, called the cops or bought them with him on Maya's orders or did it himself because he loves. Or he happened to enter at the right moment, stopped Ayaan, slapped him nonetheless because Ayaan deserved to be beaten up, didn't entirely (or at all) believe Maya's claims. He didn't appear sympathetic either, just like Jhanvi.
Whether or not Maya actually hid the key in her dress :
Can't be sure because its quite ambiguous.
What helps Ayaan's case :
- Nothing. Nada. Zero. Zilch. Going to be very difficult for Saanjh to fight his case. Samay's shown to be with Saanjh while she's talking to Ayaan in the cell. How and why exactly is Samay present there? Isn't that conversation supposed to be solely between the client and his lawyer? That makes me think that he might have witnessed something (could be against Ayaan's case or in favour of his case) which is probably why he's present there.
CCVT Footage :
- Will mostly likely support Maya's claims and case.
Arjun dilemma :
- In his heart, he knows Ayaan can't commit such a horrifying crime. But because he heard those suggestive threats by Ayaan, he'll be torn apart not knowing who exactly to believe because he was in a drugged and locked up state while all of this happened. Add to this Maya's (fake)) suicide attempt, the following scene and his humanitarian instincts are further exploited.
- He'll probably end up testifying against Ayaan owing to what he heard or owing to Maya's claims and emotional blackmail. But since this is an attempt to rape case and circumstantial evidence should be enough, Arjun might not be asked to testify.
- Won't have a choice to walk out of the marriage and Maya's life. Again.
