At the unveiling of the Indian Academy Awards today, Shah Rukh Khan spoke at length about the relevance of a new set of awards and how this one should not be compared to Oscars. Instead, any awards should take a cue from the Academy awards concept than creating them as a benchmark.

Khan said, "Oscars are going on for years. It's inspirational. Also Golden Globe and BAFTA. They have created an Academy. But, I think there is a system there which can be inspirational in trying to take a cue from a good thing that already exists. So, I am not saying it's a benchmark that we are trying to create. We are also not trying to create a clone or a mini Oscars. But, somewhere down the line if there is a good thing, where we can create a property which is about Indian films married with the Hollywood and South Indian films and Inshallah all the films in India (in different languages) , but don't consider it (Oscars) as a benchmark - create your own benchmark!"

True that!

Shah Rukh Khan is quite a famous face on the red carpet of award shows. Want to know why? Duh! Because the superstar sweeps away most of the trophies! And at a recent event, the actor even admitted he likes winning awards. In fact, he specified the exact number of awards he has and boy is that a lot. Khan is the face of Indian Academy Awards which will commence next year. However, for an official announcement, a press conference was held to launch the awards. For the same, the 51 year old actor was also present. So when someone asked him to comment on whether he likes awards, the actor admitted that he did and soon added that he has won 267 awards, to be exact! "I love awards. I love being a movie star and win awards for my work. Yes, I do keep a tab on the number of awards. I guess I have got 267 awards till now. I work hard to get them, if I don't get one I feel saddened." He sure is competitive! In fact, he's like one of those kids at school who are never happy with their high scores. 267 is quite a lot, especially in a career spanning for over 25 years. Just recently too, at Stardust Awards 2016, the actor went home with the Editor's Choice Best Actor award for Fan. We believe him when he says that he works hard to get the awards because it reflects in his performance. However, it's cute to learn that he keeps a tab on the number of awards he wins.

What's more comical is that Aamir Khan, his contemporary shares a similar kind of emotion. Well, of course, Aamir boycotts awards, however, he is very competitive and is disheartened when he loses in any game. Clearly, the Khan boys like the whole competition and are quite sore losers. There's a lot of excitement going on in SRK's life at the moment as the iconic song Laila Main Laila's remixed version from Raees just released some time ago. The film is slated to release in January and with the whole hype going about, Miya Bhai's persona could be rated as one of Khan's best performances.
