okay so my review is firstly the concept pf the show is AWESOME! I will follow this show .. u get to learn so much! 😲 👏
I absolutely LOVED the entire episode, the concept, the narration, the research and most of all Iqbal. From whatever i have read in school and on internet ( after he announced u will play Akbar ) , he was a grey character, like most of us are in real life, like the anupam kher's narration said, "badshah honey k bawajood wo ik insaan tha" .. and Iqbal being the master of grey characters, just effortlessly stepped into the shoes of such a complex historical figure.
I LOVED the opening shot, must say he gained grip over sword fighting pretty strong! 😳 and every single shot following that. From his helpless for his Khan Baba, to ruthless killing of his subordinate by throwing him off the ceiling to introducing a tolerant outlook to the society regarding religion - each and every shot was so in command.
Iqbal was playing Akbar,! Like Akbar THE GREAT, but even after playing it with all the majesty, i could feel connected to his emotions, his turmoils, his helplessness and his pure intentions. This is what i enjoyed the most .. like i could connect to a persona behind the ruler and Iqbal deserves credit for that
My favourite scene has to be in the darbaar where Akbar is drunk and tries to kill himself with the sword, also the voice over in the letter to Barem Khan was BRILLIANT! The voice modulation he did was just perfect,
I wanted to see him perform more in this role, more screen time! One hour was so less .. but whatever he hd, the set wasnt that expensive .. it was evident, but Iqbal lifted the show .. just like he used to do it in PKHJD time .. whatever time he had on screen .. he made me enjoy and kept me intrigued abt Akbar .. 👏
So proud of Iqbal! 😳
btw they outrightly refuted Akbar marrying Jodha 😲 😲 .. was shocking for me. 😲
