The characterization is really Disgusting
I wonder how the director finds these scenes ok while filming it .

They think viewer wants Masala type scenes . Maybe some fanboys and Fangurls want it , but not the general public while dealing in mythology

What other proof do we require that this time there is drastic fall in TRP

Yeah, I see fangurls complaining all around that people don't have good taste in TV shows and no one likes to see "mythology" anymore, but what they don't understand is, people like to see Ramayan as it's written. They don't want to see a kichdi written by a bunch of modern writers who have nothing better to do with their time than character assassination.

SKR is just like very other OTT show out there, so honestly it deserves its TRPs right now. Hopefully it comes as a wake up call to directors to do some kind of damage control before it's too late...though I don't see how they can fix much. So many people already hate StarSita, are bored with StarRam, and are soon going to hate StarLakshman for his treatment of StarShurpanakha, who's going to come off as innocent in all this.

Ram's Character is going to be so badly butchered during Agni parikha sequence as well as in complete Uttar Kaand

Making a show based on Ramayan/Mahabharat is actually very very difficult, because these epics have been made and remade SO many times over the past 25 years. Audience has expectations, high expectations, based on the popularity and success of previous versions.

So modern directors need to understand that simply giving a show good graphics is not going to make Ramayan or Mahabharat a success.

Why do saas-bahu daily soaps become popular? That's because they have the element of the unknown working for them. No matter how horrible or stupid the plot is, many people watch them to see what happens next. This "let's see what happens next" is what carries forth these shows for so many years.

On the other hand, there is no "let's see what happens next" element in mythos. 95% of viewers know what happens in the epic. Maybe some kids and teenagers these days don't know, but most viewers do know. Not only do they know the story, they automatically compare what's being shown with previous versions, and also with the epic.

So if CVs drag the tracks, particularly with fake stories and unnecessary drama/romance, people will lose interest. They know what's supposed to happen next, and when it doesn't happen on a timely manner, they will switch to other shows, no matter how stupid or infuriating the other shows may be.

So the only ways for CVs to regain the TRPs is to show the story properly, instead of changing every single freaking event in the show from how it's supposed to be.

CVs may think showing the story "differently" will attract viewers, but this is not mere mythology. This is a holy Hindu epic millions of Hindus revere around the world. People will not tolerate distortions, so ultimately, a distorted storyline will lose viewership.

Nikhil Sinha should know this. It's what happened with DKDM also. He got so proud and egoistic of its success that he deviated more and more from Shiva Purana, and ultimately the show was axed due to lot TRPs. If he doesn't take care, SKR will meet with the same fate.

URGH, I know!!! 🤢

Can you even imagine how it'll be shown? I don't want to, I really don't.

Ramji, please give buddhi to these CVs. Please put them on the right path, for the sake of your own reputation. 😔 Better yet, we should pray to Lord Hanuman to teach these CVs a lesson for tarnishing Ram and Sita's good name.

There is no problem in writing a modern version , it just needs careful planning and execution

Every character has sort of main traits and some side traits

My theory is that u can still play with side traits , but they should dare not play with the main characterstics of the character.

Like in lakshman's case , whose main quality is known as the devotion to his bhayia and bhabhi , has not been tampered with , although the makers have taken the liberty of showing him naughty and engaging in fake banter with urmila ( which maybe untrue ). So the core of his character still reamins intact

In sita's case , it is the opposite , they have put to extreme some of her main qualitites , like wanting equal right for women . Sure Sita Ma stood for gender equality , but not in this extreme feminist way they showed.

But the most important characterstic they destroyed was the love for her family , in her pride , she is shown egoistic and disrespectful , even to the standard that she scolds the ones who care for her , especially her son lakshman. they have destoryed her motherly nature

See, I am all for creative liberty which does not mess with the main storyline.

Like, I would love to see some fictional scenes that explore Ram-Lakshman's relationship, Sita-Lakshman's relationship, Ram-Sita's relationship (that isn't filmy or soapy romance), Lakshman remembering good times spent with Urmila, etc. Such scenes would not deviate from the main storyline. In fact, they would enhance the beauty of Ramayan.

Creative liberty can be a beautiful thing when done properly, but the problem is, CVs' creative liberty has destroyed the characters' greatness and has changed the entire story of Ramayan.

Ya , like I said , so many little side stories can be planted to draw out the emotions and bonding

But by butchering the plot and characters in name o POV or creative liberty sucks to the core
