The unfortunate demise of Pratyusha Banerjee has shocked one and all. While the industry is still mourning over this loss, a lot of people are making statements hinting towards various tangents, further tangling this death mystery. That's when her closed friends and legal adviser decided to hold a press conference in order to give rest to the endless rumours.

The whole mood of the press conference was very low. The media had questions and Pratyusha's friends had answers that they wanted to scream out to the media and the world. In a gloomy mood, Vikas started the interview and bashed all the gossip mongers. Hinting atDolly Bindras inhuman act of releasing Pratyushas mothers voice recording and her dead bodys picture, Vikas called it a sad and disgusting act. Vikas also added that this press conference was organised so that the people who knew Pratyusha in and out could clarify specific details...

Rumours about Pratyusha having various problems.

Vikas said, "Every single person comes and gives six different statements about Pratyusha having various issues. I would like to make it perfectly clear that she had no issues. Rahul said that their relationship was going good and that they were all set to get married. If that was the case then why did she kill herself? Pratyusha was a middle-class girl, who had a very basic dream of getting married and having kids. If she was getting all that she had ever wanted, then she would be sitting here and not be dead. People are also saying that Pratyusha had depression issues and financial crisis. That is absolutely nonsensical. Pratyusha Bannerjee never sat at home without work."

Shashank also said, "I have worked with her. We used to speak about life and finances also. And after Balika Vadhu, she was constantly seen on TV. Be it reality or fiction, small roles or full fledged roles. So any question of her facing a financial crisis does not arise at all."

Vikas interrupted again, "As a matter of fact, I will give out the figures now. Pratyusha charges more than 1 lakh rupees for a day for a cameo appearance. So she would have no issues of finance. She recently finished Power Couple and their dues are yet to be cleared. Also, for all the people who claim to have lent her Rs.4000 or Rs.10000, this is complete idiocy. I had even offered a show to Pratyusha, but she refused and then told me that she was disturbed on a personal level. Everything was messy in her life and once she sorted out her personal life, she would jump into her professional commitments. All of her monetary details were looked into by Rahul Raj Singh. So if there were any issues at all, Rahul would be able to answer better.

Allegations that her parents were using up her money.

Their lawyer said, "As far as financial issues are concerned, she wanted to file a legal case against Rahul. She had an appointment with her lawyer on the day she hanged herself. She had spoken to her lawyer at length about Rahul and how she was getting tortured one way or the other. She was planning on going the legal way. Prior to her suicide, Pratyusha spoke to her close friend Leena Dias about her issues, about how Rahul tortured her. We all are willing to give statements to the police but have not been approached yet. The main reason that the police should investigate is Saloni Sharma. Pratyusha mentioned Saloni to Leena. She said that Saloni would physically assault her and also mentally torture her. She used to threaten Pratyusha that she would ruin her career and her life."

Says Vikas, "Around midnight the day before Pratyusha killed herself, she called up Leena. Once Leena explains the whole situation, everything will get clarified." Leena Dias was also present at the press conference. She did not hesitate to reveal the details of Pratyusha's last conversation with her.

Leena said, "One night before her death, she called me up at 3 AM. She was crying bitterly. She told me 'I can't stay like this. I want to get out of this whole mess.' Saloni used to torture her all the time uske ghar pe jaake. She literally used to attack Pratyusha physically in Rahul's absence. Pratyusha had even requested Rahul to intervene and look into the matter but he never did anything. Whenever Pratyusha would call Rahul, he would say that he is coming and his phone would be switched off for the next few hours. He never came to her rescue."

Vikas adds, "There is CCTV footage in which Saloni is attacking Pratyusha and Rahul is just standing and watching."

Kamya says, "Saloni spoke to a news channel and said that she has nothing to do with Rahul and Pratyusha. She also said that she was not in touch with them and that she had no relation to Pratyushas death. If this was the case, then what was she doing outside Kokilaben Hospital when Rahul brought Pratyusha's body? She was asked to leave from there and shortly after that Rahul disappeared too."

Leena added, "I spoke to Saloni about what happened and how. She said to me that how would she know. I asked her who brought Pratyusha's body to the hospital so she told me that it was Rahul and 4-5 other people. How did she know how many people were present at Kokilaben when she claims that she did not go there?

Vikas gave another interesting titbit about Rahul. "Rahul's car was parked near Saloni's house on the night of Pratyusha's death. That means there is something naa? Saloni was also present at Kokilaben and then she vanished from there and so did Rahul. Saloni, in an earlier interview, said that Rahul was her ex and she was not in contact with him after he and Pratyusha started dating. Ask Pratyushas neighbours or the buildings security. They all bear witness to Saloni torturing Pratyusha. And Rahul still parties with her after knowing it all. What is this now?"

Vikas continued, "It is being shown everywhere how much Rahul loved Pratyusha and that he wanted to marry her. There is proof that Rahul physically assaulted Pratyusha publicly also. Is this a good relation where you slap your girlfriend at a party?" Pratyusha had confessed to me that she wanted the relationship to work. She had even confessed to Leena that she wanted to marry and have a kid. Also, when she told her friend that she wanted to fight back one night ago, how can she hang herself to death? There are a lot of other instances that have happened in front of us. That is why we want the police to call us so that we can record our statements. It has been 2 days and no one has called us. We are her friends and can tell the complete truth to the police. It is not a simple case of suicide as it looks. There is more to the story. And we are willing to share the truth with the police. I request them to contact us immediately. Pratyusha was a beautiful woman and had a successful career but the only bad thing in her life was a troubled relationship in which her boyfriend and his ex were torturing and assaulting here. Kamya too echoed the same thoughts.

Injury marks on Pratyushas body and Polices refusal to admit to them.

Kamya said, "Yes. We saw the injury marks very closely. There was a deep gash on her nose and it had blackened. There was also a bruise on her cheek. We have evidence of it as well."

Their lawyer Falguni said, "The investigations are at the preliminary stage. If the police has said that there were no marks and no incriminating evidence then it is a wrong statement. And if they have said it on record, then they can't give any accused a clean chit without investigating the whole matter. We will determine the marks on her body. The police have also denied that there were fights between them. Wo apni taraf se Rahul ka case lad rahe hai jo bohot galat hai. Whether it is abetment to suicide or murder, it will come out ultimately."

Why is the case suspicious?

Vikas explained, "Rahul said that he saw Pratyusha hanging and took her body to the hospital. It is illogical that she hanged herself as there were injuries on her nose and her face was also swollen. When I, Makrand and a few others reached, Rahul was outside eating chips. Then he said that he was going to get Pratyusha's Mom-Dad's tickets and disappeared.

Lawyer Falguni says, "Since Rahul brought her body to the hospital, it was his responsibility to call up the police and get the Punchnama done. The police should have investigated whether there was a suicide note or not? Or did Rahul destroy the evidence?"

Vikas explained, "The absence of a suicide note is a big issue for us. One night before she says that she wants to fight back and the next day she is no more? To add it up, don't you think she would have written down a note or messaged someone the reason for ending her life?"

Kamya interrupted, "Who saw that she hanged herself? How will a 5'2" girl hang herself? The approx. height from ceiling to floor was about 10.5 in height. No one saw her hang the rope around the fan and then hang herself. He claimed that he loved her and wanted to marry her. He said that he left because he was scared. Scared of what? When you are not at fault then why are you scared? If he really loved her then he would have stayed back and tried to find out how or why she killed herself."

Pregnancy Rumors

If she was pregnant, no one would have dared kill her, not even she herself. She so wanted to become a mother. She has always dreamt of getting married and having a kid. Why would she kill herself even if she was pregnant?

Rahuls Infidelity

Pratyusha had confessed to Kamya that Rahul was cheating on her. Kamya says, "I told her that once I come back from Delhi, we will sit and sort things out. She desperately wanted this relationship to work out. Aisa lagta hai jaise the whole torture Pratyusha faced was a well co-ordinated plan. Rahul used to go out of the house and Saloni would drop in once he was out."

Why did Pratyusha not file a case against Saloni?

Pratyusha wanted to work out her relationship. She told me that she wanted to get out of the whole mess and I told her to wait till the 4th of April. I know she would have waited for me to come back. We do not know for sure whether Rahul was in the house or not when she hanged herself.

Will her parents pursue her case?

Yes. They will. They have called us and are working upon the matter. You guys (media) were present when her parents arrived and saw them. Do you think they will sit and blame people for their daughters death rather than pay their last respects to their deceased daughter? Once all the last rights of Pratyusha are performed according to the Bengali tradition, they will pursue the case full fledgedly.

Anger was palpable in the atmosphere but Pratyusha's friends kept it under control. With all this muck surrounding Pratyushas death, we just wish that the case is solved as soon as possible so that her soul can rest in peace.
