Sush this time the east coasters are so lucky to have the mild temperatures. Real tree for sure is fun. I put up a Christmas tree but its not real. Decoration is must. Before used to do it for kids but now I do it for my own self😊 Daughters were against putting up stocking yet i still had it. We have this cute teddy bear stocking and they thought it was too childish now.
Younger one got admission to IB courses in high school. So that is one good news that happened at the end of the year in midst of all the chaos .

Do you do iceskating? That is one thing somehow I have hold back on.

Did you see Bahubali on big screen , Sush ? The waterfall scene and the one where shivagami saves the kid was visually amazing,I felt...
What does your mom say about the actress playing Sita in Siya Ke ram, Sush...she is very beautiful and playing her role to the T , IMO but I would love to know your mom's views ...
Congratulations to the proud mummy Bhavi.👏

Bhavi,
Long time! Hols were busy. The only time I took off from work was to take care of MIL. Xmas came and went- good memories of a small family get together. New Year was with the other set of parents-mine!😉- watched 'The Force Awakens'. Star Wars still has the old charm for me, no matter how technology has changed. (Though I was bored through the first twenty or thirty mins.)
Went a li'l crazy after New Year and signed up for tailoring.😆(Long time dream... turns out the teacher will be taking off soon for her son's study hols. So what is actually a 6 week programme, and what I had thought I'd stretch to 4 months to accommodate my schedule, will turn out to be a longer exercise I just hope I complete it.)

Sush,
SP is playing the Jashn ads- your mom must have caught that.
Parth. No idea what people see in him. Acting wise, he seems OKish. But very bad sense of professionalism. He quit KY2 for Gul's show- failed to show up on shoot, was kicked out of that- joined KY2 back...and now seems to have quit again for a movie.Sexual preferences and the rest of the attitude- just a reflection of the generation he belongs to!😆 (Not generalising,..Apologies if I have hurt anyone's sentiments.)

Kavya,
The scene you described...I felt it was done very well.👏

Hi Guys 😃

Wishing all a fabulous New Year 2016. A tad late, but better late than never. 😊

Logged in after ages. It was a hectic holiday season followed by an equally hectic start to the new year.

Checked out Siya ke Ram, but somehow did not work for me. More along lines of Starbharat... was expecting it similar to Mahadev since the PH is the same. Agree with my MIL on this... its too much of 'show shaa'. Although I must add AS has molded himself quite well to play the character, including the serene look that very few mytho show actors are able to achieve... quite a contrast from Rudra dev.

Bhavi, congratulations on your daughter's admission.

Hello Everyone! Sorry for being MIA. Happy New year all! May 2016 be a prosperous year for everyone.

My holidays were relaxing as well. We just shopped for home stuff. Haven't done any shopping for myself. Other than that we had lots of family friends over and my SIL and BIL stopping by as well. My daughter enjoyed having so many people over rather than just seeing us 3 all the time.

I haven't moved to the new house yet but the amount of running around we are doing I had no time to login to the forum but I made it a point to come today and wish you all a happy new year. Sush don't close the chat club! I love it here...I will stop by more often in the next few weeks once my move happens.

My parents have gone to India for 2.5 months! I have no idea why they never listen to me but my dad doesn't keep well and his own doctor told him not to go for more than 3 weeks. Anyways, they have reached Bombay safely for now and heading to Goa in a week, then 3 weeks in Goa and then rest of the time in Chandigarh.

My 2 year old daughter has tired us out beyond belief. She has become so stubborn, doesn't sleep during the day, nor the night. we are literally zombies for the past few weeks. The terrible two's have hit us hard...😆

I am not watching any hindi tv. In fact I am not watching any TV 😆 I heard that Pyar ko ho jane do is also facing the axe from sony. Not surprised as Sony doesn't let any show go beyond a few months. I stopped by a few minutes to watch Siya ke Ram but I couldn't handle Ashish without the moustache. I am not attached to any character but just the look didn't suit Ashish in my opinion.

I saw a bit of Singh is Bling on TV and it was such a ridiculous movie. It was so stupid that I couldn't even watch more than 10 mins. How did that movie even do well? We Punjabis don't act like that... 😕

S - are you back from vacation? How was it?

Bhavi - Congrats proud Mommy! its so good to see kids excelling.

Kavya- Mom likes how the story is being presented in Sia Ke Ram...she thinks presenting it from Sita's perspective is a very interesting take...she even asked me...who is writing the show...as she was impressed with references to Valmiki Ramayan in it...and not Tulsidaas Ramayan that more people are familiar with. She liked the FL...She was talking to me about Ahalya episode and Sita's question to the Rishi...I forget which Rishi is that...who turns her into a stone...about why a woman should take the brunt of his anger which is his shortcoming...not the woman's...My mom is a feminist...I tell you!!😆
Chick- Yes, she must have watched some ads...she is funny...how she makes firm opinions...I tried to change her opinion about Sanaya looking aged...she was...like...yes...but still she looks aged...
About this Parth guy...Hmmm ...seems immature and fickle...May be he is just acting his age...😆
Ri- Happy New Year to you buddy! Good to see you back!! I think you should watch Gilmore Girls...You will totally love it...Our other fav show right now is NCIS LA...even the kids are hooked to it...😊
G- My friend! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! So good to see you back!!
Your daughter sounds like a passionate punjabi kid...I can relate! Mine are very strong willed too! I think Punjabi parents take the medal in pampering their kids...May be thats why the kids push more...?
Havent seen Singh is Bling...so cant comment...but I can imagine...its probably horrible...
Oh about Bahubali...I watched it on 60" screen TV, Kavya...with surround sound...so, yes...the waterfall was enjoyable...and so were the other scenes from a cinematography point of view...but the story was very weak...and disjointed...and the characters looked like they came out of comic book...nothing real or relatable about them...Most of all I hated the graphic violence...and also the fact that the FL lost all her skills once she was sought by the ML...she became a total...do nothing person...Oh well...
Grumpy...are you on your vacation already? I think my predictions were not off...Trump's luster is already fading...He is now trailing Cruz in California...😛
EDIT: Not sure why this post shows up as content removed some times and other times with full content. Can you guys see what I have written above?

Thank you all! 😊 Am I proud? This is one thing I can only be when they become something.

Small achievements matter however I am surrounded by all geeks. Most of their kids are in the same programs and at times i think we(ME and my husband) are just too harsh on kids. We do not compare yet at times its so difficult not to do that.

Chick - Life for sure was chaotic before holidays. Had few dead lines and then daughter was home from university so took a sabbatical from all the gadgets except TV😃 I did not even call anyone. Was just responding to phone calls. When i sit back i think we overwhelm ourselves so much by these devices. Tailoring course. Oh that is one on my list. I can do embroidery but stitching and that too in a straight line is a big challenge for me.😕 I can not even cut in straight line despite drawing a line😆

Ri - Long time buddy. Its been a while. How are you doing? I too am not watching any shows. Hindi is beyond me. My inlaws are liking Siya ka Ram too.
The video is good and is so true- we do not appreciate our parents until we become one. I am not sure if showing this to daughters they will even realize it. 😕

G- Terrible two. No duh you are a MIA. I don't think i had energy to even watch anything forget analysing a show when my kids were two.

Sush - Although i like outdoor adventures; anything to do with snow is not my feat. I can not afford to slip on snow and break my bones. 😆 I liked Bahubali. It was one of the best Indian movies as far as technicals go. Cinematography was breath taking. I wished i watched in the theatres. ALthough it was not bad watching the HD quality, on big screen tv with hometheatre
