The SAIFAI Mahotsav hosted by the Samajwadi part began with a grand celebration like every year. The event has become controversial in recent years due to the presence of popular celebs from Bollywood.
Celebs like Salman Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Hrithik Roshan have performed at the festival and this year too we witnessed a fair of celebs from B-town. The event was held at Etawah city in Uttar Pradesh and is attended by well known politicians from the state apart from the massive crowd that follows.

Saifai Mahotsav is an annual Entertainment event, which is famous for participation of bollywood celebrities. It was started by Late Ranveer Singh and now it takes place in Saifai village every year in the memory of Late Ranveer Singh, who was nephew of Mulayam Singh Yadav and father of Tej Pratap Singh Yadav (MP from Mainpur).
** In the year 1997, then Block Pramukh of Saifai, Ranveer Singh Yadav started a festival to celebrate the art and culture of the area and named it as, Saifai Mahotsav'. Ranveer Singh Yadav was cousin of erstwhile UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Ranveer died an untimely death in 2002 and thus no festival was observed that year as a mark of respect for him. Saifai Mahotsav was re-started after an year and named as Ranveer Singh Smriti Saifai Mahotsav'.
This event always made a controversy for huge expenditure to held this event.
