Boss selected favourite colleague to accompany him to a conference. Boss' loss.

A grant application was rejected. Science's loss.

This has been her attitude since I was in school.

My best friends are not taking to me anymore. Their loss.

I didn't get a part in the school play. Their loss.

This morning, I had a similar conversation with my mother:

Wisu: Usney phone nahin kiyaa...

Wisu ki maa: Chhod naa. His loss.

Wisu: It is okay, maa. I am not heart-broken. Save that dialogue for when I am really and truly in need of it.

Wisu ki maa: There is no harm in positive reaffirmation anyway.

Wisu: (grudgingly) Okay. [Even as I gratefully sent her a very long hug over the phone...]
