Alright so, here's my official belated entry into the preparation threads. 😆 I went through every single prep thread and I'm very much impressed by the team spirit I see in all of them. Team spirit is a fundamental aspect of CC. 😃
@Team CheeseSucks: You guys are still picking up, that's fine. 😆 Just saying this cuz.. the other teams are doing pretttyyy well. *hint hint*
First things first, a big congratulation to the applicants that have made it to the second round. I'm just here to remind you guys that your work and your contribution will be evaluated individually. It will not matter to me if your team had the best Halloween thread and it was the one that was made a Global Announcement. A GAed Halloween thread does not guarantee you the CC title.
If you are an individual that likes to merely agree with your team mates, or ask to be assigned work by your Captain, you might not get far after this round. I'm looking for individuals that take the initiative and are constantly suggesting ideas to make the thread as best as it could be. Also, make sure to keep your Captain in the loop! Before you finalize the content of the thread or request for Graphics, get your Captain's approval.
For the applicants that are wondering why there is a group activity this year instead of individual applicants creating a basic thread on their own.. There are two reasons for that.
1) You get a taste of how CC threads are created. This is slightly different because the Captains will be less involved here as we want to see how you guys work. I already know that the Captains are great at what they do. This also ensures that there is less confusion about the operation of the team if you get selected. You'll know what to expect when you come in. So, though it may feel like you're given a large amount of responsibility here, that will reduce in the CC team. 😃
2) I need to see who works best in a team. There's a massive difference between being 'bossy' and being a 'leader'. You have an example of a leader given to you to help you out - your captain. 😃 Don't boss around your team mates but guide them if they require assistance.
Finally, remember that the other four (or three) members in your team want to get into CC just as much as you do. It might happen that your team mates get into CC and you do not. Make sure to try to shine above them and get noticed. If I don't notice you, you aren't trying hard enough.
