You're not far wrong in assuming that Ria! Most of the winter sales start on this day and the hordes of shoppers, who hit the shops, do resort to the above means to fight their way to the front 😆 and also after having spent a whole day with extended family, that is the state of a lot of people who seem to see said family members only once a year ... 'tis the time to be merry has taken a backseat by today 😆
