Ruchi--The original Humsafar is going to be re-aired on Zindagi today!
Ria and Re Re--I had no idea that AK directed ArHi scenes during the Payash wedding sequence! I thought LM directed those scenes...

Wasn't LM the one that said that Barun wasn't actually a good actor and that it looked like he was one only because the lighting department did their job well?

I read somewhere that some issues had cropped up between LM and rest of the creative team, so he was transferred to channel V's Humse Hai Life (which was another 4 rats production). This was during the Payash wedding-forced marriage track. And majority of the scenes then were directed solely by AK. LM officially was taken out from IPK post Holi.

I had read a YouTube comment too for one post Holi episode when the comedy track started, somebody lamented that it is all because LM left, romance too left the show. The reply to that comment was that almost all the romantic scenes up until then(Payash wedding, Diwali, etc) were directed solely by AK. The problem is with the script and not with AK.

Yeah LM was the one to say that and precisely for the scene where he cries in front of the SUV. He said it was all due to camera angles. This scene was directed by AK. Ironically a very similar scene during remarriage track (where he screams in that Garden) was directed by LM. And after that he had tweeted something like, "just directed the best performance on TV. Now will go on a break. Cut it."
Well honestly, I found the one directed by AK way better than the repeat performance by LM. 🤢

There is something like that too on IF? I have been blissfully unaware of it. 😕

Di there was a storm of sorts on IF because of that. 😆 Literally two groups ready to strangle each other. This basically marked the beginning of Uncle-Aunty fandom fights. 🤣 I'd try to locate that thread, there were too many in those days.

The first thing I did when I woke up in the morning was to check under my pillow if Santa had left a present for me last night.

Albeit most kids at school used to leave socks beside their beds for Santa, my father would tell me, that if Santa has to give you something, he'd prefer putting it under a clean pillow rather than a soiled stalking in which you play around all day. 😆

So that was the practice, my gifts were always found under the pillow.

Having studied in a Catholic school, Christmas parties used to be a big deal. In primary school there were multiple Santa Clauses(we were too many for one to handle😛) dropping down from Chimney (or so they told us) and would bring each a different Christmas present. Later we learned that it was our parents who got the gifts, had them wrapped with our names on top and submitted them to our class teacher. And then Santa came and gave them to us!

I remember, I was 6 when this epiphany took place. A few classmates had cried a lot, I remember one boy who was hysteric, throwing around things and ready to tear his uniform for he was so disappointed that his gift wasn't selected by Santa. I on the other hand was rather elated that I won't have to worry whether Santa knows my choice or not, since my parents definitely would. 😉 The teacher told us how Santa was very confused as to bring what gifts for the beautiful children and hence had this pact with their parents.

All these memories rushed back the second I had opened my eyes. I got up and checked under my pillow and was met with a tad bit of disappointment, the sight of the plain floral bed sheet sans the shimmering, glittering gift wrap. A little sad too, as I realized, I am no more a little kid. Santa doesn't care anymore. How lonely did I feel in that moment. 😭
