U love comparative linguistics? Oh wow. That was one course I hated in uni. It took so much effort and I felt myself hating to step into the class. Perhaps because I got a feeling the professor was just being...irrational. What's your major in? But it's good that u r enjoying the class. It is probably a weight off your shoulders since u were worried.
