These women are shunned by their own families mostly..they literally have no place to go..but the attitude matters..i had a patient's wife who was such an example..her husband abuses multiple substances, alcohol, tobacco and cannabis, turned psychotic but dint stop..she tried leaving him, her father sent her back. No money, no support..she attempted suicide atleast 3 times, was saved but her own parents wudnt let her file criminal charges against husband..her father-in-law supported her, tried to get her a divorce but the girls own parentz insulted tt poor man, saying he wants to get his son remarried so doing natak..her children were taken away from her but she still tried..finally after her father-in-law died, she gave up coz she was literally alone..now tolerates her husband coz she has nobody helping her..but even now she says its only till her children are a little old so tht once they are adults she can go away with them..her spirit was awesome..

Yes Anu- the economic hardships does play an important role. But in many cases, there are women belonging to affluent or even middle-class families who go through it.

I am saddened by the stories you guys have just shared. abusive, paranoid and selfish husbands as well as meek, helpless women and women who encourage other women not to ask to be treated as equals annoys me sooo much.

First of all to clarify for those silly male programmers agreeing with that biased Microsoft chairman or what not, the first computer programmer was a woman! Ada Lovelace, they should check her out before they say things like that! Challenging environment may be their excuse but they can only use it on me after they have gone through the challenging environment of raising multiple children of all ages and working and pleasing so many people on a daily basis. that is a challenging environment.

if women deserve a pay raise, they deserve one end of! Women make better programmers because they are more patient as well actually and more critical in their codes. men and women are equally capable of doing things. the difference is that she will put up with more stuff than he will because of the self entitlement ego complex fed to him since childhood. although it does not apply to all men. everyone is different and thank god there is some good in the world still. it is diminishing though.

Why does everyone have an issue with maternity leave or women having children and working! if they want children then let them have maternity leave. why is it so complicated? it is because of profit making capitalist leanings!

I can see your annoyance with Dev is very clearly iterated. I'm having the same problem with Ishaani in Meri Ashiqui Tumse Hi. Just had a shouting match at the TV about it. He needs to leave her to ruin her life herself with Chirag, and enjoy his new life with a woman who will value him. But no, that will never happen!

I completely agree that all the shows were aptly described. in each women were degraded in such a way despite their education that it does not justify the policies of women empowerment they seem to advertise. quietly waiting out the bad does not change the bad and your fate can change by your actions. sometimes you need to change your own fate before god intervenes. obviously having someone to help you helps a lot.

also I would like to add love does not change you all the time if you don't want to change or are beyond help. starting early and helping children realise certain things about life without rose tinted glasses is the best way to go about it.
