well turmeric being antiseptic heals the broken/erupted skin while chunam kills any bacterial activity that may have caused the itchiness on the eruption(bacterial activity could be due to many reasons with pollution being a major factor) so making a paste of the two helps in healing the skin without blemish

PS: Dude, chuna toh I will get even from the walls of my house, yeh haldi stick kahan se laun, it's so difficult to get the unadulterated stuff these days?

dont use the chuna that is used on the walls it is harmful for the skin ... use the one which the paanwala uses to apply on the betel leaf for making the paan - it is edible ... haldi stick you can get it in provision store. Ask your mom 😉 bcos usually haldi/turmeric powder is actually pounded turmeric stick. otherwise use the turmeric powder that is used in cooking - go to the kitchen 😆

PPS: Also tried fuller's earth and rose water paste, gosh kya kya karna padta hai. 😆

as far as i know fuller's earth only removes oil from the skin to prevent the oil sheen on the skin - it has nothing to do with removal of pimples 😉

Now I remember one bachpan ka DD1 ad, where they used to sing "chuna chuna - chuna chuna". But chunam I'll get, in fact I got a classic panwala (the name of the bush-league is Classic Pans😆), just about a few hundred meters from my gate. I'll get it from him, as for turmeric, 'Vishnu Provision Store' should take care of it.
