Views on episode 1, Season 5:
Cersei- Lena as usual is ever consistently brilliant in her role,.The scene where present day Cersei climbs up the stairs has a disquieting irony foretelling of her imminent descent to come. The young Cersei in the flashback, embodied her mannerisms very well. ., the omission of the prophecy relating to a more younger, beautiful queen taking over and the valonquer seems odd, such that Cersei's actions this season is going to be driven more by love for her kids albeit in typical morally-questionable lannister fashion rather than self-interest.
Jon- Appears to be unusually rejuvenated, becoming more and more forward and assertive in his various interactions, thus keeping him in contention for the Commander's position. Mel's ever so subtle pick up line 'are you a virgin?' led me to believe for some bizarre reason that shes got more than friendship on her mind for Jon!
Tyrion-/Varys- Tyrions scenes were kind of funny in a darkly humorous way. He has upgraded to a whole new level from 'meh' to 'cba' mode, still wallowing into the aftermath of misery having escaped KL and killed off Tywin and Shae, and his will to live has shutdown- whilst Varys trys to waken him from his sluggishness with plans to support Daenerys rule for reasons still unbeknownst to us.
Daenerys- Like in the books, her plans aren't quite panning out as the Sons of the Harpy make entry and she continues to struggle in establishing her rule as well as her control over her rebellious 'children with Drogon off partying somewhere. Her prospects remain stagnant until perhaps Tyrion and Varys enter into the picture.
Sansa- Still relatively subdued next to LF and free from any turmoil for now though and im confident wherever they are headed is going to shatter the momentary tranquillity enormously..
Wars to come has implications for all these characters but in this ep it was exemplified best mainly in Cersei and Jons stories. I felt most of the rest were just thrown into it, rather crowding it unnecessarily, flitting in between too many storylines, esp with Brienne and Pod just milling about, and even Sansa LF which may have been best left for another episode to focus on their progression. I felt the episode could have restructured itself better in the narrative, so keeping more of the weight upon KL and the Wall stuff.

i find it hard to believe a channel cannot force torrent to take down videos😆 wont be surprised if hbo n D&D did this for some cheap publicity in order to do something "hatke"😆

(muhahaha...clapping hands in glee) The young Cersei in the flashback, embodied her mannerisms very well. ., the omission of the prophecy relating to a more younger, beautiful queen taking over and the valonquer seems odd, such that Cersei's actions this season is going to be driven more by love for her kids albeit in typical morally-questionable lannister fashion rather than self-interest. (i hope they cover it in another flashback. its important damn it! due u think Cersei really loves her kids? i think she just loves them as a way to get to what she really loves - Power!)

(tbh i m bored with KL now. with tyrion & tywin gone from there, no varys, no LF...its just dull & boring.🥱 its the exact opp at the Wall. things are gonna be awesome there this season. i get so excited everytime a scene from the wall starts. stannis, mel, davos, jon, ghost, shireen, tormund...all my darlings in one place😳)

I don't know, I think its easy to underestimate Cersei as being an absolute irredeemable women, Im not saying she isn't obsessed with power but certainly in the show, she has been portrayed as having sincere affection towards her children although she truly is a weak mother, Joffrey being an exemplar of such shoddy upbringing.
I think this episode was about KL and the Wall hence why they could have allowed more development- it just feels too fragmented without other parts having real import, I understand the need of building up the story and its range of characters but even so, it felt imbalanced. Like they were shoved in there simply for the sake of showing us where nearly all the characters are at with theexceptions of Arya, the Boltons, and Dorne.
The Wall stuff is undoubtedly pretty good. Jon Snow and Melissandre's dynamic will be fun to watch.
As a Bolton fan Im unapologetically looking forward to the North plot along with Sansa. I admit my initial disgust of the Boltons but that was quickly surpassed just because their scenes never fail to intrigue, and they are just so charming damn it while Sansa was another character who grew on me in Season 4.

they shud just do what other shows do & start d season with a little recap of the previous season so they dont need to devote an entire episode to just updating the viewers where everyone is.

in a way it was good they didnt introduce dorne or braavos in the first episode. it would have been too much.

i m still not a sansa fan but now she is in much more interesting company like LF & the boltons instead of margery 🥱& herself😆 so yeah she is tolerable for me now.

Yeh that's basically what it was and should have happened, a recap, it was going broad rather than going deep, it just didn't astound in the way an opener to a new season ought to, the title in this instance contained more than the actual episode itself. But don't get me wrong, it was still enjoyable, it just lacked a strong narrative.
Anyhoo, Ive decided to watch two eps fortnightly thus making the wait that more sweeter, whilst allowing things from the episode to brew in my head till then. Means no GoT for me next week!
