Yes Shimoga is really beautiful. Had been to Madkeri and Shimoga once before but it was in July when the rainy season was at its peak and so couldn't do anything much. Now the plan is to stay in the places and take bike trips in the city. Yup one week of full on fun and then the school would start for my girls from June 2nd so it would be back to the old grind.

Yup they are but don't know how far I would be comfortable riding a geared bike. So right now I am practicing with my neighbor's borrowed geared bike and my younger daughter is my coach. It is fun to see her so excited that she goes Mama go fast, go slow, turn left/right and what not. Gives out a million instructions all with the same enthu. 😆

A question for all the learned ladies around here- any suggestions for gifts that are representative of India? Have an upcoming state side work trip so looking for something nice but not too bulky for some team members. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Payalia, would recommend arts and crafts based gifts. Last time I got some paper mache gifts and embroidered placemats - very travel friendly😃

I second Savs recommendation , Payalia...I too get banarasi brocade or lucknawi chickenkaari gift items for people...they love it😃

Just back from Million Dollar Arm...and what do you know? They filmed an extended sequence at my alma mater😲...still haven't been able to wipe the grin off my face😃
