I am neither a BS fan nor an Ashish fan ... I am more an ASR fan than a Rudra fan so far, but am calling it like I see it till now. I hated ASR for the longest time, but surprisingly when the hate marriage happened, I could see his POV more than the feminists on the IPK forum did. But I always felt he was a bully, first in the office track and especially in the 'farak padta hai' track ... being smart and wearing business suits didn't hide that fact. He played dirty and used his position to put Khushi into a spot all the time ... for NO good reason at all, other than the fact that she fought back. Yes, she disturbed him, got under his skin, but that was there just to romanticise his bullying.

well the thing is i always think if the stupid past track was well developed ALL of the above said things could have been explained (NOT justified mind u. there is no justification to him hurting another young girl over what a girl like her might have done to his mother in the past leading to her death)

Rudra on the other hand has more justification for his actions ... he thinks Paro is a terrorist and a traitor. And ever since she has come back of her own accord, that impression has altered, but eh doesn't allow himself to admit it. But slowly the roughness has stopped ... he untied her, found her clothes, and has stood up for her under every situation in front of his kaakisa ... while poor Khushi took all the slaps because of ASR. So as a hero, I find him better than ASR, even though he is supposed to be an animal. But he has reason for being the way he is with Paro ... ASR never did.

Again same watching ur father being killed/ mother committing suicide in front of ur eyes and the proper developed story which would link to a girl very much like Khushi - with Shyam-Khushi track being the exact replication of the past would have explained everything.
So see di, we had so many FFs and that past that most of us explored, so by the time CVs destroyed it we had already had our reasons/excuses.. and with those only we watched.
I always said defending Rudra that he THINKS she is a terrorist n he is not ill-treating a woman, n is ill-treating a terrorist. So its not that i don't understand it.. It was always so much easier to feel for Arnav.. I lived and breathed with him for more than a year till things went bad.. I am yet to have that emotional connect with Rudra (which i am 99.99% sure i will never have as it should have appeared now if it was ever going to come)
Facts and figures, truths and lies... heart defies all of these... ASR is such a case for me.. see after all these years today i was reading a story called 'Revenge' by Lazyleaves and i was in tears for Arnav.. sigh... no matter how heart touching some of the OSes been on RR i only feel Paro..
i guess i will never again allow myself to have an emotional connect with a male character on screen.. once bitten million times shy!

When the show started, I expressed a wish on R&R that this show should be different from the other love hate shows, in that the guy should find himself unable to hurt or humiliate the girl, despite the hate he feels for her. And to my delight, that is exactly what I find is happening ... and that is the one thing that makes RR different from all the other love hate shows out there like ThP, BI, MB (RK humiliated Madhu a lot in the start), QH. I was actually quite worried about this aspect, as I stopped watching MB because RK humiliated Madhu so much.

I like Gustakh Dil for the same reason ... the guy is sweet, he never allows Lajjo to be humiliated ... of course he's an idiot in other ways, but a sweet idiot 😛
aahh i wanted same too n glad its happening.. its nice to watch AND hehe only reason me not hating him is that! cz this time i am a solo Paro fan through thick and thin! the reason i connect or like at all is cz of this reasonableness of him! hehe he doesn't have the excuse of being the love of my life for me to like him no matter what he does! he has to earn it n thankfully he is doing it most of the time! 😆

Khushi ... I loved her completely till the OTT became too much ... with the suicide track and Kamlesh khabri ... and then Shital track was the worst. That peon scene is among the few that I have never re-watched ever again.
As i said except Shit-All track i still rewatch everything - from Shital onward i have never watched the episodes again.. it is less painful to erase it from my mind.
Suicide track i actually sympathized with her.. understood her.. sigh.. she still makes me laugh when i watch those parts.. so even then being utterly OTT was her coping mechanism.. i kinda never felt a disconnect.. the harsher life became, the harsher it was to breath and live the more OTT she became... somehow for me Khushi was always that 18 yr old they gave us at the beginning of the show.. so that helped too, to think what a real naive 18 yr old would do... as again with Arnav.. i loved her too much and till that last crap track i always had reasons to explain her.. she was already in my heart so..

But I always loved her strength and her ability to give it back to ASR the best ... and the few glimpses we got of her pain which she always tried to hide. I think Gul was scared to show too much of Khushi's pain ... Sanaya is so good in emotional scenes, that it would have bent the audience completely to Khushi's side and away from ASR. Her Diwali breakdown ranks among the best breakdowns I have ever seen on TV or BW.

But if you notice, her emotional scenes were always interspersed with Arnav's ... while Arnav's breakdowns were solo sequences to allow him maximum impact. Only during Arnav's kidnapping did Khushi get some solo sequences ... and she aced them ... which is why she carried the show during his absence. All the tracks which worked during BS's absence were Khushi tracks only, none of the parallel tracks worked at all.

Ditto ditto ditto!! agree 20000000% to every word u have said! Sanaya is much much better at emotional scenes than Barun. His 1st breakdown was amazing, but 2nd one i don't even look at cz Khushi's silent grief is too raw.. too deep and too heartwrenching.. i cannot even give attention to his side probably cz of the stupidity written behind that scene too...
having said that no1 can beat Barun in intensity!! ahhh... my ASR!

It seems sorted for now . The way i see it is , ST is the creative man where as AS is the moneyman . ST needs to be a part of the tv industry hence always will be on the right side of Colours. I didn't realise AS and rajeev shukla are family . I dunno if you are familiar with rajeev shukla , he is one of the biggest wheeler / dealers in congress as well as the cricket board of india. He is a master power broker ...i didn't even knew that he had invested in tv but now remember he and wife were tv journalists ...many many years ago.

It will not be easy for ST on his own , he doesn't seem to be a financial guy ...anyway he has signed a mutual contract with colours where his shows wouldn't even be in the same time slot so feel in the current circumstances , this is the best that could have happened .

Sometimes i think ..the show was in kinda limbo for sometime and it is only mid last week that it picked up pace , maybe all this in the background had something to do with it ...
