Onu - I wouldn't be quite so generous with the wife. She herself is a professional actress who's playing a character doing plenty of romantic scenes on her own show. Her husband doesn't go around issuing passive aggressive statements at regular intervals targeting her co-star. Then I don't understand the need for her to do so. I can totally understand insecurities but don't make a public spectacle of yourself by airing it so publicly.

As for the husband, yes it has been a disappointment. He did clarify on Twitter that he wasn't making a value judgment on women who discuss makeup and clothes - he was simply indicating that he couldn't connect with it. There's some underlying inherent sexism in his assumption that women interested in clothes and makeup are frivolous by default and only women talk about clothes.

But I can cut him slack there - that's the average Indian man for you - lots of internalized sexism that they seem to be completely oblivious of.

When you spend your formative years not broadening your horizons, reading diverse books, watching interesting films, tv, traveling, acquiring knowledge, exploring life in general - but spend every waking moment fighting internet battles for an actor who couldn't give a f**k about your existence - yeah, there's something so wrong about this picture.

I honestly don't understand how BS and VD inspire this sort of devotion - they are only slightly above average looking, have zero personalities and so uncharismatic offscreen. What could anyone find so fascinating about them?

OMG - I haven't been this excited about an Ekta maiyya show since...well, since never really 😆. But OMG - keeping my fingers crossed - please Kekta maiyya, don't f**k this up - I really, really want you to do a good job with this one.

If you're curious, all this hopping mad with excitement is over Ekta maiyya's adaptation of Sense and Sensibility - Kumkum Bhagya - which would be shown on Zee TV. Don't expect something of the calibre of the Jennifer Ehle-Colin Firth P&P, this is Ekta after all. But the casting has been so good so far

Sriti Jha as the older sister, Mrunal Thakur as the younger sister and Shabbir Ahluwalia as one of the male leads.
