If saying Sanaya Irani vomits 'verbal diarrhea' is criticism, then saying Barun Sobti should be more serious with his projects should also fall under that category. I don't understand the double standards.

2) No one here is advising him. If that was our goal, we would be PMing MediaQue to do their job right. If venting frustration for and yearning for the return of an actor you love is considered "moral policing", then yes... we are the upmost officers.

3) I don't think the "Mother Hen" attitude is present here in this CC. If anything, it's the concept of supporting and protecting everything Barun does under the title of a 'true, doting fan' --- from his films to his marriage. We're not here to give him career or family advice.

We're here to vent our love with people who think along the same terms. And love brings disappointment. The reason I find negatives in Sobti is because I want those negatives to be taken care of... and I want him to make the most of his undeniable talent. It's only after you recognize the shortcomings that you can reach perfection. Cause I'm not really a worshipper of Sobti the humble person and every decision he makes. I'm a diehard fan of the actor and his work. And without seeing his work, its natural I question why that is.

If that makes me an "untrue" fan people should shun and stay away from, then yes, I am. And proud to be one.

what's with all this eavesdropping. and that you say, in bold pink, kind of sums it up for me. i am waning a bit every day, minus that acting.

just saw 111, all because anu is on a orange white man chase... of course it was the wrong episode. but there's that little scene there. where he is feeling things after almost kissing ("almost kiss" can make its way to the oed or something now i think 😆), he grabs his phone, then he looks for an escape, from her, from his feelings, what else who knows... he turns around, ever so slowly, and finally makes eye contact... though his eyes stray away... she keeps asking him, he watches her, all sorts of feelings in his eyes, then lunges forward grabbing her shoulders as if to shut everything up...everything is too much for him..., then again a wave of emotions assail him... his fingers let go, he steps away...

i can go on

every bit hits me inside. he is the guy who has left her without any explanations, after being drawn to her and seeking her all evening. he is the one refusing to give any explanations now and being rigid and distant, and snarly... she is the young virginal one, he the guy who is worldly and has a live in gf at the moment... to whom he will get engaged and instant later...

yet my old cynical jaded heart is feeling bad bad bad for him.

what can one call this level of acting.

yes, direction and editing in these scenes were extraordinary... but those expressions were his, that timing, and the emotions he allows to seep into the frame.

what amazes me also, is that in our times of smart everything, lots of one liners and this trendy cool lovin', when it is almost unfashionable to show too much feeling, he expresses so minutely, deeply, and with shades and tones and yet remains utterly cool. asr is hot, even when he weeps... nothing makes him thobby, embarrassing, filmi...

i often feel there's a hollywood matinee idol in him and a hindi films sixties/seventies actor and something from right here right now... i wonder if even he knows what he exudes, how he talks to the camera.

this is a rare rare actor... i've never ever done this for anyone, not even my favourite mr ford or shash kaps or jeremy ji...

but this guy is something else.

so i don't really care who calls me what, and i am ok with being mother hen, sister parrot, bhabi kakatua, girlfriend toucan, teacher crow... whatever bird you choose to call me because me the ultimate one... teenage phangurrl. hamesha. samjhe everybody?

Z, thanks for bringing this up. Though none of us inside or outside this cc is answerable to any groups still I would maintain loving Barun or liking his looks and talent comes with certain parameters. A set of rules always decided by others.

Am glad that I am here where I have the liberty to get angry with Barun and vent it also.

There was once in BHPH where Barun said 'no one gives me awards' and made this really cute face. That is the secret reason I reveled when he won so many just a year later...but that is my awww comment one.

The one that touched me and made me melt a little is about his wanting to act...'I kept this dream close to my heart.' It's him. It's his identity. It's what he dreamed for himself even while at Jindal but didn't have the courage or circumstance to chase it yet.

And because I remember that one and hold it close, his 'I would sell groceries' made me want to hit him in the head. What a complete betrayal to himself to ever even consider that.

It is comments like these, along with the constant hum of 'family' that paints him as an extreme novice and naive in this industry. Being 'good' is lovely, being 'smart' is better. I agree with Gan and Indi and Anu - he has got to be more aware of his worth

It is as was said before, these kinds of statements are superfluous. I seriously couldn't believe he said that 'my family was getting mad at me for not spending time.' Last I checked, people in their 20s work 60/70 hour weeks all across the globe and his 'family' is in Delhi, how much more time could he have given them? Was there no way for them to wait so he could work out a more agreeable exit. It was so weird that comment and I was so relieved he dropped saying it. How I wish during that coffee with Gul he said I asked you for a break, you didn't give me, I quit 2 months ago, but you still didn't give me proper exit...instead of this bhajan.

Granted, there are fans who, hell there is one particular TOI 'reporter', who constantly ask him less about his profession and more about his personal life (this started during IPK but got worse later) - but there is no reason he should pander to it. Live your life man, share with us your professional dreams. I care a shit about what kind of pasta with white sauce is made at home or that you haven't had a candlelight dinner in 10 years. Tell me what scripts you are reading and what you have auditioned for.

I have a question for that twitter interview:
Please compare and constrast these sentiments:
"I left my life and came to this town to be seen" (<--- this is one of his most haunting comments for me in the past year) and then having a media blackout. How does one complement the other goal? What was the blackout for?

My awww too. But leaves me wondering when he got plenty of them he never went to receive them. According to me receiving award is also a big moral booster. Sigh, how much I would have love to see that smile on the stage.
