Rabba Ve ladies- just checking in to see if my membership to the CC is still valid having been more away than present here. I guess I do not help my case by stating haven't yet started on The Lowland or watched any of the new movies incl. SDR (is that even new anymore) to jump into an impromptu MoM discussion which from what I have read so far was a rather fun one. Sri, in my defence I did not find the book at the airport bookshop but it is in my list of to-dos before the end of the year.

Savs expectations are at rock bottom after the first three miserable failures so this one might work. Speaking of expectations I'm a little disappointed with JL but I was told it gets better after the first 60, 70 pages, fingers crossed!
Dipsy humne daring ki and took the plunge one more time it isnt as bad this time!!
The male lead looks real like a regular guy who eats well and exercises as opposed to steroid induced six packs, no long locks, no facial hair gone haywire, and did I mention THE VOICE!!!

So here is my verdict of Tumhari Pankhi. Dr.S has already covered the whole of the show's first episode so I am just going to cover the plus and minus on the show.

Plus :-

1. The shooting of first episode is on a very grand scale. They did pass Panchagani as Shimla. The reason I knew it was Panchagani was because I saw an SBS segment. 😉

2. The forts of Rajasthan and Chittoor were awesome. Having visited Rajasthan, I can really place the places and the intro of the hero and the heroine were awesome.

3. No ominous hanging of Past in the background. The whole story is out in the open by the end of the first episode. Dr. S, I think Lavanya does remember the shaadi and by that I felt that Anshuman also remembers the shaadi.

4. The story is told in a simple fashion with no unnecessary su-su fights or stupid angst. Stupid angst was what killed SLB's SC and EBP and stupid fights killed chanchan.

5. Lead characters are sketched properly, the girl is spirited and the guy is image conscious. Somehow after knowing that Shraddha was a possible contender for Khushi's role, I did look at her acting with IPK tinted glasses and I have to say, she does have that 'IT' factor for her. I have never felt KSG would do justice to Arnav's role maybe because of my bias towards Barun but Shraddha does come quite close by and she does look beautiful in the yellow ghagra choli.

Misses :-

1. Story was going on a jet speed, There was no need to tell the whole basis of the serial in 1 episode straight.

2. The vamps were horrible in their acting.

3. Someone ought to ban the names of IPK characters being reused. I can't place any other figure for the names Anjali/Lavanya/Shyam/Akash/Payal. I hated it when in EBP, the mom is named Anjali and here the sister is named Lavanya.

4.Waited a lot for Sunidhi's song but I didn't see that coming. Or wait is the intro of heroine is that song? But the break ke baad ka song seems to be Sunidhi's voice.

5. Didn't feel the magic I felt when Khushi falls in Arnav's arms at the end of the IPK episode 1 and the chemistry of the leads is nowhere that of Barun and Sanaya.

Well that is my verdict. It is a 70% pass for me.

Well the family of the guy came out and said that he is too young to marry Mallika. So this was all a staged one. I doubt it will go anywhere further than this.
