That is a very baised and divisive question MQ is asking. It assumes

a) that the only criteria to judge a film by is the money it makes. Most of the 100 crore films are complete crap, except for 3 Idiots, which was a brilliant film even though it did not have 500 dancers in the most disgusting constumes dancing to ranchy numbers.

They are a product of lots of skillful market manouvering- releasing only one film by capturing all the cinema screens in the country, paying distributers and exhibitors to stop them from showing other films at the same time, lits of cut thraot, unmethical trickery behind the scenes.

b) You need special skills to be part of 100 crore, which Barun may not have!!

c) That actors have no choice, either you're in the 100 crore crap or none at all, not everyone is bothered by that Barun clearly does NOT want to be doing those films, that is what he is saying.

d) It immediately sets up those who agree with this statement against those who don't

Ultimately, it does not matter what anyone feels about this question because no one knows what can captivate the audience and tip a film into a high earner.

I will believe my mom, a bright, broad minded, very well-read, well-travelled 71 year old woman. She could never understand my craze fro Barun Sobti and IPk, but this weekend we were chatting on the phone about IPK which she'd been watching (Telugu version as she'd missed the Hindi one) and she said that it had suddenly struck her that Barun was not TV material- he was a film actor of very high calibre-he reminded her of Gregory Peck, and others like James Dean, Deam Martin, the top actos of the 50s and 60s whose films she'd been introduced to by my dad in the 60s when they were newly married. She says he reminds her a lot of Gregory Peack and Dev Anand.

So this question to me is meaningless, because discerning audiences will always recognize talent where they see it, no matter what anything that a bunch of crazed obsessed viscious people will say!

This is an unnecessary question. I don't know what MQ is up to.

HI all 🤗 on this sad day. KRji I absolutely agree with all that you have said on the MF.

I am deeply saddened by what is happening in the forum, Ultimately, i think we all will have to balance our desire for space on the forum in light of the poison and bitterness we are having to endure over there against our very genuine and sincere wishes for an actor we all admire and decide on what where we want to be.

For me, our admiration and love for the actor outweighs any forum, epsecially one that is so biased against us.

I am juggling between two threads...

My fight...to get through thread 50 and force them to open thread 51..Till then I am not giving up...my way of defeating the haters is to continue doing what I was doing before.No change...

..But I cannot stay away from BS discussions...lol...

So the 100cr question..this is what I have on the MT

At the moment, No he cannot. I know no one will approach him now for a 100cr movie. But I do not know what the future holds for him. To me what matters is the quality of his acting. His recognition. Money always follows a successful person.

So he has to be successful first in terms of displaying his talent. Then there will be recognition and acceptance.

100 crore is all about an actor already in power, already accepted and immensely loved by the masses and a formula that never fails to work. And where there is a formula, there is no experimenting. And where there is no experimenting, an actor's talent dies without being given a chance to display talent. So no 100 crore club for now.

MT has been a happy place for everyone... many fans depend solely on it to get Barun movies news😳 so in a way good that its continued... members can discuss there as usual...
