OK DIA . Time to sleep. My brother and sister still watching a movie . I was waiting for them but they are not paying any attention to my request . So I need to hit the bed .

I don't know if I'll ever appreciate any of these films or songs but I like being exposed to them...a different era indeed, but you also have to admit, somewhere nostalgia does positively bias our image of the days bygone. And in a strange way, somewhere I feel like bollywood masala is just as profound as anything else because afterall everthing in life can be completely pointless as well...so it can go both ways 😆

Saumya . I am not sure you will get to read this but I must say this " at your age to love Jinhe Nazareth hai hind par is incredible" . I knew there is something very special about you that I love . Pyassa was another great movie Guru Dutt made . Most of his movies he use his love Waheeda Rehaman and His wife's voice . Most of his movie flopped at box office but he was loved by literature lovers .I love that Sahir Ludhianvi's poem to very meaningful. I am not going to give Dia link . I think she will be upset so I will spare her.

I must say I have great friends. They have a great sense of art and literature in comparison to me . I mean I just like movies, they like movies, songs, paintings, history and what not. There is this friend who wrote a poem in banga which meant even if that love will never reach its expected end but then there is no denying it. And it was so beautifully written that its impossible to get out of head.

About jab sar tera chakraye... Isn't it an amazing song 😃 it had a humour quotient to it and is a good light on vein song. Johnny walker's expression were brilliant.

it is believes that Sahir Ludhianvi had written it in post independence period when Congress was busy showing people how rich and diverse India is. This is not the original poem though. The original one had jatil urdu plus a few more stanzas.


About old movies biassing our views to new ones, I don't really think so and that is because I really like a lot of new ones. I like pinjar, gangs of wasseypur, that girl in yellow boots and lots and lots of not so old movies.

Has anyone watched do beegha zameen? Amazing but less effective than the story. The story was way more beautifully written. Especially the last scene , it was written amazingly well and the movie was dramatized at wrong instances. They dramatized the accident more than the last scene which needed real drama.

Hey Saumya now we are going in to ancient era of movies now I have to go beyond my parents and reach my grand parents . I have seen two bhigha Zamen matinee with my grand father who loved Balraj sahani . I remember he was going on and on about it . As a young girl I was so sick of his talk but we had great respect for my Aajoba so we kept quite . After his death I hunted the movie and watched its again and that day I realized he was absolutely right . Great movie with lots of good writing . Another good movie by Bengali production .this movie had international recognition and award ( I think ) great movie !
