Yes as much as I love him as ASR ... I would NOT like to be reminded of it when I am watching Sukhi.

ASR was an epic character but it over and done with. I wholeheartedly wish Barun to make his career stronger and it can only happen when he gives a part of him in every character he plays.

Expectations toh bilkul hi low hai ... and Barun himself said ... Its nothing extraordinary just a simple feel good movie ... so expectations bada ne ka sawal hi nahi peda hota.

From what i have seen about Barun, he has a creative hunger in him, which can be satisfied only and only if he gets to play diverse roles be it films or TV, only the role should appeal to the actor in him and medium or screen space is not important to him at all, otherwise he would not have taken up a film which has four other heroes right

Asr was a well written character but by no means unique and unknown to the tv audiences. ( You can ask viewers of SI's new show. they will vouch for it 😆 ). A very big reason for the success of the character was Barun. He owned it completely and delivered big time. So much so that the channel decided to axe the show rather than attempt to continue without him.

But he is smart enough to understand that he can't rest on his laurels or assume he has done everything now. And that probably prompted him to choose the character while he was playing Asr. He had to show interest in doing variety in order not to get slotted into a certain category. I have full faith in his ability to do this not becoz I saw ipk but becoz I saw baat.

Asr will remain one of the best portrayed angry young men on tv but I hope and pray that Barun is not only known for that but for all the work he does in the future as well

Riti that's true ... He is man of few words ... Simple sentence ... I was brain dead, conveys it all.

Maybe he will never play a character like ASR who knows but not trying even yeh kesi logic huwi.

Also I like his attitude towards the fact that he maintains he is Barun Sobti the actor who plays the character and also the fact that he does not become the character on screen which most of the actors do. Trying to justify their characters and behaviours of that character relating it to themselves.

Hence his words ... If you love ASR ... He will be there even if I do not play it (of course he thinks other actors are can play it too ... Its we viewers who cannot) and if you like the actor Barun than I will be around with other characters.

Agree with you guys. Barun and ASR hav done great things for each other. If not for ASR, so much attention wud not hav been on Barun. N without Barun ASR would not have become the cult character of TV.

But there is no use clinging to ASR all the time. Its over. Now we can cherish it, the show, etc by re watching d episodes n keeping it a nice memory.

Beyond that, its childish to cling to it.

The movie is a new thing. Searching for ASR in it will be a disastrous viewing experience. This IF fandom, popularity all can give it a good buzz, bt aftr that its movie's credentials that will determine its fate.

As for him, its an actor's choice n right to do any character. We can dream or criticise the choice as per its out come.

Bt clinging to the past or insisting that we have to be clinging to ASR to prove that we admire Barun's work is childish.

yaar why bring in ASR between puchpuch and susu ... he had no relation whatsoever with pets. Bandha was engaged to laptop. 😆 😆 😆

Yes i would agree with them ... ASR was by no means a new character ... Many had played that anti-hero thing ... There are more after him ... In fact Maan was as fresh can it be when ASR hit the screen but Barun owned him, gave portrayal of anti-hero new dimension.

So much so that layered characters don't look layered anymore. Just delivering apt dialogues and giving angry looks is no more enough.

Its a given that every individual will build their career further ... Barun will do the same ... It will be foolish for him to carry ASR with him and go on and on about ASR with dreamy eyes.

It will also be foolish on my part if I wish him to do that ... In fact I would be a selfish fan to bring in ASR in everything that is Barun.

I don't think any sane person will mix the two ... I know a lot of people who are not following Barun but still visits IPK time and again ... ASR was loved and will be loved ... Hamesha ... For that matter everything of the show IPK will be.

His fans will carry on without crying foul for losing him as ASR.

Riti I clearly remember how much anger was poured and how much he was criticized for saying "I am excited about the new project I am doing"

Again simple nai ... Why do something that does not excite you or interest you ?? I even read a comment that said he should learn from Mohit 😲 who when asked about his movie said : Oh its nothing I just did the movie because I was free. Lo karlo baat !!!!
