Akshays interviews seem bitter...but surprisingly not towards the makers but the audience...IPK is one show where the audience has been held responsible for a lot of bad wriring, poor execution, lack of creativity, pathetic crisis management and extremely poor PR skills of the PH.
Of course audiences want the lead pair of a love story called Iss Pyaar ko kya naam doon. The would be crazy if they didnt. The love story would have been an epic failure if the audiences didnt want the lead pair.
But its the job of the creative team ( they are being called creative for a reason) to engage all the supporting actors in an effective manner while keeping the focus on the lead pair.
The biggest folly of this PH was the interaction with the audience of an online forum. The members of the forum are very diverse...locationally, in age, in sensibility, in maturity...especially in the case of IPK. Therefore taking the opinion of one section of the forum as the basis for constant track changes was one of the most ridiculous thing any creative team could do. Feedback while welcome should not chnage you initial story idea and thought process...constantly...
Then the execution...the initial 6-7 months was a dKS track...Anajali was Arnavs didi...Kushi was her saut. But it was so well developed...and beautifully executed. Why did people hate the DKS track post Kidnapping...maybe becoz the man had got kidnapped and no one was even referring to it...no one was discussing abt Shyam...Khushi and Arnav never even mentioned Shyam...and Khushi never told him all the things he did...it just jumped onto the so called DKS track...a lot of tupid stuff later...( I mean Anajali felt bad that ASR was spending time with his wife...but never once looked at Khushi and felt that look at this lying woman who has taken away my husband from me...she never felt anything like that for Khushi...just like Khushi never got such thougyt during Sheetal Track)
Then they just ended the track...and went a break neck speed...past + re-marriage...check...shyam revelatiomn...check...then crap...check...
But all this is becoz the audiences wnted to see something...as per Akshay. IMO he is an average actor...his efforts at showing anger dueing the Shyam ouster episode was laughable...and i made many such comments on the main forum at that time...
He needs to work harder on his acting skills, and he may get lead roles. He got PV only due to the visibility that IPK gave him.He got a fan base and followers on Twitter due to IPK and nothing else...true most of them would have been to get info abt Sarun😆...but still...it gave him fame, and the road to a meaty role...so I cant understand why he feels it gave him nothing...yes I agree on the KG part...there was no need to bring him back during the kidnapping and Aakash could have been involved in helping out...but they probably felt tha KG was the bigger draw and a better actor...whatever...
But he seems to have the issue of being sidelined in every role...even in PV he says that people prefer the main leads and not his role. Well of course they do. Thats the reason they are the main lead...and if he keeps going for supporting roles, thats how it will be. Once has to be exceptionally talened to steal a March over the lead actors...and Akshay is miles away from being even close
