OK, things seem to have moved on pretty quickly; but here's my thoughts on some points raised by Yovna. We agree on many points, but not all.😊

Agreed that Barun is a good actor and yes, he does have very soulful eyes! I use the word soulful, because man, he could emote the vulnerability of ASR perfectly!! Is he the most handsome man around - no! There are men, better looking than Sobti in the entertainment industry. But then again, beauty is always in the eyes of the beholder. I like that he isn't muscled like every other actor now a days!!!

Is he the best actor around - of course not!! I have said this once before in the forum and I say it again, he is an actor in the making & I stand by that. He is learning and seems to have a very steep learning curve… He is one of the few actors whom I feel has the ability to modulate his voice as the scene demands; that coupled with his expressions leave audiences spell bound. His talent is rough around the edges, but with each role he has done so far, he has improved significantly. He still has a lot to learn & a lot to explore!

What he has is talent. Talent, which is so rare in today's BW. Because he is talented & good looking, he has potential to succeed in this industry; whether he does depends on his destiny and hard work.

While he can modulate his voice, he still needs to improve his diction (enunciation). He also needs to work on his posture. He needs to learn how to handle the media & how to articulate his thoughts better. These are areas where he still has a lot to learn & he has the potential to learn as well. I am not an acting coach or from the profession and I can't put to words all the areas where he needs to improve.

Looks: I really don't care about how he chooses to dress when he is not working. In today's world too much importance is given to looks & it has gone to the extent where young actresses (young as 25, 27) are resorting to botox, collagen fillers etc to rectify "flaws". Many end up ruining their natural beauty as a result! So no, I don't care how a celebrity dresses when he/she is going shopping or attending a cricket tournament!!! They key is; are they able to change their appearance to fit the character they are playing. As long as that happens, I am good!

Yes for actors (or shall I put artists) popularity, fame & success is very important. It's one of the ways they know that their talent is recognised! But all these don't necessarily mean that you have to let go of your human side & become a perfectly oiled & run PR machine!! The key for actors/artists is the ability to connect with the people & with each person it's different. Why Barun as a person is able to connect to me is different from why or how he is able to do so with someone else or he may not connect at all to another person. I don't know what or how an artist connects with his/her viewer, but that connection is what matters.

So, I genuinely hope he succeeds in whatever projects he does because I think he is talented and there is a shortage of talent in BW!!!
