yes we can do that.. we can keep the forums closed to guests. Only registered members will be able to view them over then.

We can also close down the registrations and invite members on our own... Some forum scripts have plugins called Invitation System while for others Administrators could do that up.

lol... u need not degrade urself yaar.. I started this just after I finished my 12th.. I was a member of couple of forums since I was in 10th.. wanted to start a forum since 11th & finally achieved it after 12th 😆 Had to use dad's money to start the site .. those days hosting wasn't cheap... now its all cheap, any one can afford it now. Its the reason we have so many sites going online every day.
