lol nahiii I refuse to compare gabriel with christian 😆
They do have similarities but they are different, well in their own way or so I think. Gabriel books are all about self realisation, developing compassion towards others, changing one's outlooks and forgiving one's self for past mistakes with somewhat of a religious background to them.
The books sort of have a very deep emotional element to it.
Compared to them, 50 shades (even with Christian's reformed tenderness) feels juvenile. Maybe because the writing is so bad, the writer failed to bring out the deeper context of the story...

Hiru, is it Lindsay Lohan from her latest movie (about Liz Taylor) in your dp?

No comment on the books you all are discussing. I rarely read fiction these days... evrn when I do, there has to be a cause or history it is based on! Guess,I am getting old now... 😆

@Hiru Yay! Glad you liked them. See, when someone told me they were like 50, I thought they meant the physical aspect as well but when I read the books I realized it was because of how flawed Gabriel is yet everything he does to redeem himself and just how passionate he is about Julia.

I absolutely loved Gabriel and Julia. Both characters were so well written and developed. I also loved how the author told the story and the writing was perfect.

I enjoyed these books hella more than 50 simply because of how well written they were and the fact they didnt make the female another clingy, cant be alone girl like Bella and Ana. She was headstrong, knew when to walk out on him, knew when to call him out for his nonsense, but also knew when he needed her.

I hate how the girl is shown in 50. It reminds me of what they did to Khushi in IPK.

Gabriels redemption was also amazing.

But yeah, so glad you liked them!

I loved Julia's character! She's so timid, shy and fragile, unlike those pretensious M&B heroines trying to act brave and chirpy and bubbly. She reminded me a little of Jane Eyre. Usually romance novels tend to show heroines with strong personalities.
Julia is no damsel in distress but she has a very shy, easily ruffeled and introverted disposition, and I love it!
The fact that Gabriel still falls for someone who seems so 'weak' for want of a better word is the highlight of the story.. He falls for her innate goodness and kindness and I like the way the writer show it.
And yes the writting is impecable. God such a welcome change from 50 shades. The writting was so bad in some places I couldn't understand what she was trying to say.

Shilpa, it's Audrey Tautou from Amelie of Montmartre. She's an amazing actress. She was also Sophie of Davinci Code (movie of course)
