2012 is very – very bad Hooo!! Just 9 days are left, then why am I telling the year as a bad one…it has been good to one and all then why?
Just plain and simple reason and you would agree after you go through this post. The shows that we have lost in 2012…gosh they were all of our favourite! So what are you waiting for start reading, learn what 2012 has taken from us and I will meet you again towards the end of the post.
NDTV Imagine – Launched -21 January 2008 – Closed -11 May 2012
The shutdown was as sudden and shocking as ever for one and all. Although the viewership was low for the current shows but all viewers were stunned with the abrupt end.
The channel was launched in India Jan 21, 2008 as NDTV Imagine and it made an impressive start with shows like "Ramayan", "Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi", "Say Shaava Shaava", "Jasuben Jayantilaal Joshi Ki Joint Family", "Kitani Mohobbat Hai", 'Raaz Pichhle Janam Ka','Rakhi Ka Swayamwar' but in the later years it couldn't managed to get satisfactory TRPs.
'Sawaare Sabke Sapne Preeto', 'Jamuna Paar', 'Dharam Patni', 'Zor Ka Jhatka' and 'Ratan Ka Rishta' were among the top 10 fictional and non-fictional shows launched in 2011, but none of them managed to garner TRPs in fact the channel received less viewership than Life Ok which was newly launched then. So, instead of bringing twist and turns in the show or some new twisted shows, the channel decided to close and got a space in our Countdown list .
Chhoti Bahu – Channel – Zee Tv – Run Time – December 8, 2008 – September 17, 2010 (season 1) February 15, 2011- May 18, 2012 (season 2)
Well this show definitely had its effects on the audience; the second season returned in full swing and entertained the audience for over a year. The fiction in this show went to the next level by involving Lord Krishna and other characters in the show.
Everything good, bad and fiction comes to an end and so did this show in 2012.
Dekha Ek Khwaab – Channel – Sony TV – Run Time – 21 November 2011 – 2 August 2012
It is the story of Moniya, a girl who makes a wish to become a princess. Her Khwab became true overnight as she discovers that she is the long lost princess of the Devgarh Royals. The journey of the lead from a road side girl to a royal princess attracted the viewers.
The fashion and style statement of Yuvraj was also one of the highlights of the show. Although all this could not hold audiences as much as required and the show had to bid adieu.
Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Channel – Star Plus – Run Time – June 6, 2011 – November 30, 2012
This show was a perfect mix of silliness and seriousness. Each character was great in their space and received love, appreciation and applause by all. The show ending was super sudden within a week the show was ready with its back pack to bid its audience.
Well the show did not end because of viewership, but because of three characters quitting and one of them being the lead Arnav. The shock did not go well with the shows viewers, but what's done is done. All we can do is miss the show and the actors.
Laagi Tujhse Lagan – Channel – Colors – Run Time – December 28, 2009 – January 6, 2012
The story of a beautiful poor girl, who for the sake of protecting herself and her family became an ugly girl, touched heart of audiences. But the story became stronger with Nakusha and Dutta's love story.
The angry man became a romantic man, with lots of twists and turns the show managed a good run. The ugly lady became beautiful again and then the show had to end in January becoming the part of this list with 6 days to its credit
Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki– Channel – Life Ok – Run Time – December 19, 2011 – October 21, 2012
Ohk!! So it started in December 2011, but we are still counting it because it soon became an important show for Life Ok. The innocence of Lakshmi not only took the heart of the lead Arjun but also the audience.
Lakshmi's innocent love for money and high standard living but all this with a golden heart gave the show that different edge that clicked. The show copied the script from the film Judaai – buying and selling husband, with a twist here and there. Unfortunately the script after the leap could not hold audience's interest and the show had to bid adieu.
Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya – Channel – Star Plus – Run Time – December 7, 2009 – October 27, 2012
The show received lots and lots of love and appreciation from the audiences. It is a story of a woman who will go to any length fight for her right and she did.
Undoubtedly the chemistry of Krishna and his babu Pratigya was the cream topping. After running quite successfully and being the no. 1 show for quite a while the show lost its edge due to competition and lost the fight for TRPs. The result of the same is known by all the show ended in 2012.
Maryaada Lekin Kab Tak – Channel – Star Plus – Run Time – October 18, 2010 – April 13, 2012
The show was based on women of a family and their respective troubles of their life. The lead couple made a Real life couple from the reel life; obviously their onscreen chemistry was undoubtedly amazing.
The Gay issue that was raised silently in show also made some eyebrows rise high; honestly it was a neat, clean and good attempt. The best part of the show was the actors form the lead to the vamp everybody had their own strong characters and they all played it real well.
We had to bid adieu to all this and more because of low TRPs.
Na Aana Is Desh Laado – Channel – Colors – Run Time – March 9, 2009 – July 27, 2012
A definite path breaking show for sure, the show was one of the initial shows that started the trend of women empowerment and their struggles for it. The characters specially 'Amma Ji' became a household name.
With lots and lots of twist, turns and leaps the show managed a good run but it came to an end in 2012.
Navya– Channel – Star Plus – Run Time – April 4, 2011 – June 29, 2012
A show that represented the youth of today, their life, love and troubles. It remained so till the time the couple did not married. After their marriage it became every day saga of "in laws fighting", conspiracies, plotting and what not.
The audiences did not enjoy the everyday saga and the show ended almost a year later.
Phulwa– Channel – Colors – Run Time – January 10, 2011 – March 16, 2012
Innocence of a child and the small and big problems of her and her family won the heart of millions but as the leap took place the show started losing its edge and viewership as well. A little hopes for the show was developed with the chemistry between the leaps but the hope could not survive that well.
So, as it happens the show had to end and we had to say bye to Phulwa.
Ram Milaayi Jodi – Channel – Zee TV – Run Time – November 17, 2009 – July 14th, 2012
It is said that in due course of time a show sees many changes. This show saw the ultimate changes, in due course of time both the leads were changed. The show did manage to run successfully with all the changes, twist and turns but came to an end in 2012.
Ruk Jaana Nahin – Channel – Star Plus- Run Time – December 19, 2011 – November 23, 2012
The whole story was about a piece of papers. The papers of the lead's home and while she fight for it, she struggles with some more troubles. Although if you have watched the show you would have felt that after every few episodes the papers were the main lead and somehow no lockers or safe deposit was strong to keep it safe.
In the run Sachi found her love and everything also settled down and thus it was definitely a happy – happy ending.
Saas Bina Sasural – Channel – Sony TV – Run Time – 18 October 2010 – 6 September 2012
This show was barely sailing when it raised the interest of audiences, all thanks to its time slot just after Kaun Banega Crorepati and before Bade Acche Lagte Hain.
The sail was sailing well and the Bina Saas Ka Sasural had three daughters in laws with all their friendly, unfriendly issues but the main lead aka Toasty aka Aishwarya Sakhuja fell ill, the makers did not want to continue the show without her and thus the show ended on a beautiful and happy ending.(the show was also not doing super well in terms of TRPs)
Although the makers wanted a season II but none of it has materialized up till now. Fans of the show keep your fingers crossed.
Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo – Channel – SAB TV – Run Time – December 14, 2009 – January 6, 2012
The show made the audience go crazy with laughter. The sweet lies were genuinely sweet and they made sure that the lie did not hurt anybody in show and otherwise. The show held the audience's interest for 2 years and then when the makers could not think of any other troubles and lies they shut down the show on the onset of the year.
The show barely saw the year 2012..but hey even 6 days count
Sasural Genda Phool – Channel – Star Plus – Run Time – March 1, 2010 – April 21, 2012
Oh Yes!! This show to an extent changed the definition of Sasurals in Indian Television Serials. The scary in laws became the fun loving family and everybody loved it.
With no major vamps and small little twists that brought smile and more smile the show was one of its kinds.
Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli – Channel – Zee TV – Run Time – November 17, 2009 – July 14th, 2012
This show was a Saga…an emotional saga. With lots and lots and lots of drama the show played the see saw of TRPs and viewership for over two years. In the year 2012, the show saw its last days and thus it made its way our list.
