hello everyone

Swathi - that was scathing commentary on Oprah. I am no expert on Yankees but I can tell you two things based on my experience with many
1. They don't know whats out there. Their world is skewed by the comforts of their lives with little understanding of the real depravity the rest of the world suffers.
2. Most of them are NOT willful people. Trust me, I know they sound insensitive and have this urge to feel better about themselves and their country but showing how miserable other parts of the world are. However, they are not willful, treacherous or evil.

Over all, most midwesterners are ignorant, naive about the world and think they are the best thing that happened to the world. But sinister they are not. Oprah just showed her ignorance and we Indians need to just accept that yes we eat with hands, wash our shit with our hands and dont mix the two hands.

That still does not make what she did right, absolutely not, but it does stoke the favorite passtime of many of Indians - love to hate america.

ok, on that note, i was on a tour o the city of Chicago yesterday, and took some pictures on my iphone.

here enjoy

SJji Chicago looks so wonderful I want to go there now!
Yougaiz know, I have this plan to farak everything one day, pack my bags and travel the world. It'll be like an "Around the world in 80 days.", except I'll continue travelling after the 80 days.😆

Heylo everyone!

Tough weekend again! Breaking News: One year olds are more exercise than spending 5 hours in the gym (not that I would know about the latter!)

Swathi!! - Welcome back. Hope your mum is feeling better now...Yeah between work / people to care for, IPK and forum time can be a pain! Thanks for the comment on the OS. Glad you liked it. I don't particularly care for Mr. Raizada right now.

Now, I'm off to catch up on your posts...will reply add / comment in a bit

Hola others...Congratulations on the new thread! We are really running through the pages, aren't we?

SJ-ji - Beautiful Chicago I must say!! Looks like a sunny day. Warm still?

Appy, Chutki - Dobby's death scene was a bloody tear fest for me in the books. The movie was tough to take but thankfully a lot less impact-ful than the book!

Oh, some new TB video

Mr. Raizada diversifies into construction. I want to know if Harvard actually runs a good b-school program still or is it all history - because I would've thought unrelated businesses weren't usually encouraged by smart business-minds - not unless the original firm has truckloads...Now AR definitely doesn't/...we have seen the bathrooms and the Honda City's haven't we?

Plus, he tells his wife, whom he apparently loves more than his own life (but less than his need for control, clearly!) that she comes home or the house she stays in with her parents will be razed down to the ground..Isn't that romantic - True love. But for some reason I am not jealous that I don't know such love..Weird..Yeah I am beginning to doubt myself and my sanity!

Deep breaths - Inhale / Exhale

Hey SJ
have met quite a few have in fact broken bread with many and while in their heart they mean to do good they do end up sounding rather arrogant in their views
I have enjoyed the company of quite a few of them one was such a character he brought his entire household requirements from meat to toilet paper all the way from good ol america You name the item and it would be from homeland but he would extoll the virtues of living in a bootiful country like India whilst sipping his Budweiser and emptying 3 cans of insecticide on to the lawn so that none of the creepy crawlies as he termed our mosquitoes and roaches would be allowed to roam and yet i knew he had no malice in his heart He drove around town in a vintage ford and yes i did go out for a couple of drives with him and his wife and loved the attention that car drew on the roads Did he get India hell no but were his intentions good - yes
now with oprah i expected something different she is on a spiritual journey and her thoughts always seem to reflect that
NDTV went nuts when she was interviewed at the Jaipur festival and all us indians in the audience oohed and aahed over every silly thing she said
i will admit she made some simply marvellous life observations which i hold in good stead but her also seeming no different from her fellow americans did kind of stun me I expected better just like Obama when will i ever learn my lesson once an american always an american😆 again i do know their mentality just did not expect her also to reflect that and a learning lesson for me

Oh don't remind me of the book scene! That was heartbreaking!

The only thing I could think of after watching the video was why is Khushiji wearing a suit that looks like the flag of Mengjiang?!
