The clutters and bangings of knives, forks, spoons against plates ring in my ears. All the voices; one trying to be heard over another. The buzzing happiness in the atmosphere. A genuine place to not only catch up with others but also to meet new people. To socialize. People were everywhere. Every inch of the floor was taken. I push past them to try and catch up with my cousins and soon a path forms for me. Their attention diverted to me as I step onto the stage. The stares, whispers, comments and complements. Then their stares move on to the bride herself.

I help her on to the stage and guide her to her designated seat. Cameras flash as people look at the bride with awe. Then all the cousins position themselves around her. We were all wearing the same uniform of heavily decorated golden saris with similar hair styles. It was nearly impossible to tell us apart from each other. The cameras keep flashing until a guardian calls us away. Giving the bride some words of confidence we walk off the stage, one by one. All eyes following us until the bride's family go on to stage.
