Witnesses describe last moments of Anuj Bidve 'for not answering question'

Bidve, 23, a micro-electronics postgraduate from Lancaster University, was shot in the head without any reason, as he walked with friends near their hotel in Salford, Greater Manchester, on Monday.

According to the Daily Mail, an eyewitness driving past the scene in Salford, revealed that she 'just kept on trying to keep him breathing'.

Bidve was walking with his other Indian friends towards Manchester city center, where they were stopped by a man who began a short conversation with the victim before taking out a handgun and blasting him at close range.

Witnesses claimed that he killed for not answering a simple question - What's the time?"

They said that Bidve had responded politely, but the man pulled out a gun, placed it against his head and pulled the trigger.

Residents and politicians of the city where Bidve was gunned down have said that they are 'shamed' by the incident.

Council leader John Merry urged the community to 'unite and name the gunman whose actions brought shame on the city'.

"The community will only get over this if they come forward with information that will help convict the person responsible," he added.

Meanwhile, Greater Manchester Police are questioning two youths aged 16 and 17, and a man in connection with the 'unprovoked' murder.

A police source said the youths were 'connected to the shooting', but were not believed to be the gunman and his accomplice. (ANI)
