Gunjan hugged Nupur tightly while they bid goodbye. It was a long tiring day but the presence of her bestfriend always made matters so simpler and easier.
Nupur sharma. She was a year younger then Gunjan, but somehow it was she who recognised and accepted the child in Gunjan. And thus, she was always there, to pamper to hug to assure.
Like today.
Gunjan had freaked out last night about hectic college scedule and the people she had to manage with. Moreover the increasing pressure and anger wasnt helping either. But today, unexpectedly, things worked out. Just the way they should have. Just the way they always do when Nupur is around.
As if that wasnt enough, they got extra quality time to talk and that just brought the smiles lurking at the corners , shadowed and exhausted, reemerge with new hopes. They talked about past, they talked about some bad memories, they talked about their fights, or rather the sharp and intellect memory of Nupur reminded them of them.. But.. Yes they talked and that acted as a theraphy. They got teary, but that only reinforced there relation. They smiled and that just made the day memorable.
The goodbye hug was nothing but a reassurance by Nupur that she doesnt regret being with Gunjan. Inspite of what they went together.
Perhaps sometimes that is all friendship is about afterall.
