And LMAO at that trailer, Pallo! Rob Lowe? W*F?? It might or might not be good, but it has SUCH a Bend It Like Beckham hangover that I don't know if I would want to watch it...the only things different are the setting and the sport - otherwise the issue, the coach, the love interest, even the father 🤣 are all there.

And W*F is Akshay randomly doing in there? Does he still think he is filming Patiala House?! Or maybe he just pops up every time there is a Punjabi/Sikh congregation somewhere...I like Russell Peters, but will I like him as an actor??

So anyways...I've caught up with the KG scenes up till May 20th. I'm almost there...lol kinda. I think I will be caught up by tomorrow only actually.

But wow...really starting to appreciate this story even more now. And this relationship. So much to say on these scenes...but I don't even know where to start...I still have to absorb it all. There's just TOO much scope for discussing.

I really feel for Kesar. *sigh* :( I think I would have to watch the pre leap phase to understand Gulaal's loneliness and POV better because right now I feel more for Kesar's anguish more than anything else. Bichara...has SO much pent up inside him. Has been confused and tormented...and so lonely all these years. I was almost chocking in some scenes where he reads those letters he never sent. He had no one to share these feelings with. He can't confront these feelings, he can't keep it inside of him...he's just so confused and tormented inside. He has SO much to figure out...so much to deal with. Those are the reasons he is so flawed. He makes so many mistakes. Yet he learns from each one of them. He evolves with each scene. There are so many shades to him as well. Sometimes he can be selfish, arrogant and bossy...sometimes just a confused child needing insight, sometimes so innocent...and other times just so overcome with his feelings for Gulaal...he just can't help be drawn to her even though he still has so many unanswered questions in his head. All his thoughts/his soul basically is associated with her only. Sometimes he is not dwelling on why Gulaal did this...or building up on his anger and frustration towards her...and then lashing out at her in various ways as a defense mechanism. And then other times he is being so innocent and sweet...just doing the sweetest things for Gulaal and feeling the pain of her loneliness as well. Kesar is SO conflicted...such a complicated character. There's just TOO much pent up inside him. He dotes on Gulaal and he believes in her. So you can see why he would be SO hurt if there was the slightest possibility that he didn't really know his Gulaal as well as he thought he did. That she was capable of taking away the justice for Vasant. And then you see times when he can't help but be drawn to her again, trust her again...feel her loneliness and pain and feel the desire to do something for her. Like in that confrontation scene (which I am starting to understand better now)...there is always this conflict of trust and 'haq' between KG.

And Gulaal too is sometimes just taken aback by the extent of Kesar's words and gestures. She doesn't want to believe them...she is intentionally dismissing them. She refuses to understand the EXTENT and depth of Kesar's feelings for her. It's another thing that even Kesar himself doesn't understand the depth of his feelings. He says such deep meaning things so innocently so often to Gulaal. Things like "Tu bhi toh meri zindagi ka hissa hai", and "Dus saal tak tune apne aap ko mujhse door rakha Gulaal...dus saal..."...Man I got goosebumps almost with the way Kesar said that last dialogue. SO much pain in his eyes. SO much depth to his emotions there. No wonder Gulaal was taken aback too. His turmoil/anguish just haunts you in a way...the extent of his feelings for Gulaal is just unbelievable! He feels SO much for Gulaal...right down to his very core...his soul...his whole existence. I think even Gulaal is a little scared by the extent of Kesar's emotions. Therefore she dismisses them and refuses to understand them.

I loved those scenes with the coin. SO original and creative! So adorable. I think the first time Kesar smiles and starts to soften vis a vis Gulaal is that 'dhoodh' coin scene. Aww. 😆 Both of them at their stubborn best. The playful, stubborn, childish and competitive side of these two comes out with these coin scenes. Yet there is so much depth and poignancy to them as well. You really have to sit back and really ponder over and absorb all this depth.

And aww with the way Kesar takes care of Gulaal during her sickness! I LOVED that moment especially when Kesar and Gulaal share this moment of understanding without saying a word. The way Gulaal just smiles and Kesar understands. Aww. *sigh* SUCH a unique yet beautiful relationship these two share. I can't even really figure out myself what this relationship is. It's just a beautiful sa mix of companionship, genuine concern/care, deep affection and attachment. These two are just attached somehow. And they both need to figure out and realize just how. What is this relationship and why is it so special yet so delicate?

This story is very deeply touching. Really liking the story and the characters of Gulaal and Kesar so far. Especially Kesar. And MAN Neil and Manasi are awesome! 👏 And the background music toh. 😍 All the instrumentals...and those rustic, soulful se tunes. 😍

LMAO - would I be so mean and wish for a Chaddi Tycoon for you? Would I? Would I? 😳😆 Real life banda hi sahi, but ek rajkumar toh hoga...and anyway, you need someone chulbula to make you come out of the lab once in a while. CT brooding types hoga toh woh ek kone mein saddta rahe ga, and you will lose patience and go back to your cells 🤣🤣

Oh and Anu, seems the Samir Soni show DOES have a name: Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas...🤔

And see this:

Prachi Deshmukh, who was last seen as younger Taani in Tere Liye, is playing the female lead opposite to Sameer Soni in Colors Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms.

Ekta Kapoor is very fond of Prachi and considers her apt for the role. Prachi Deshmukh has already given the look test and has auditioned for the role. The show is based on the life of an advocate who gets married to a lawyer who is daughter of another well-known advocate. However, after their marriage, problems sneak into their relationship and the couple gets separated. This will irk father-in-law who will start creating problems for him. Later, the show will see the entry of the female lead.

^^So wait - the girl who played a TEENAGER in TL will play the LEAD against Samir Soni?? 😕 Um...

Toh now finally my parents have gotten into the habit of just leaving me be for the most part and we just do regular stuff like sitting around watching TV or just being random (as we normally do) and my mom just cooks something I like aur bass baat khatam.. Toh hopefully aisa hi kuch hoga.. Although my mehmaan, the ones who left but are planning to come back next week, are all "Lets do something special when we get back".. Zabardasti ka.. *rolls eyes* But at least I don't have to do it tomorrow.. 😳😆 *feels extremely anti-social/hermit-like* Aww, well I hope you have a super relaxing and "routine" sa day then. Just the way you like it. And have a nice relaxing time with your family as well. Waisse those are really the best of days. When you can just sit back and relax with the people you love no? And oh your mehmaan are returning? But this time for the last time right? Before they leave permanently I mean. Chalo atleast not tomorrow. Have an awesome time being a hermit then Fivr. 😎😆

LOL!! Yaar! That is something I'd totally do! Aur I'd only realize it when it would start to hurt.. 😆 Aww man, I can only imagine just how horrible it may be.. Zara sa ulta ho k soo jao shoulder pe toh wohi dard itna uncomfortable hota hai.. Aur yahan toh poori injury hai toh really, I can only imagine.. Aur waise bhi, such injuries that limit mobility in general are very restricting and uncomfortable.. And LMAO @ whining to your brother over the phone! You're right, KOI choice nahi hai! 🤣 Oh *high five* then. I would totally start dancing obliviously and realize it once I've done even more damage. No wonder I get myself injured so often. I really should be more careful. Oh and yeah...aww you totally get it. It's really uncomfortable and painful even just slightly turning in bed. It's pretty annoying but it IS getting better to be on the positive side. And abhi ke liye I have an excuse to be lajji. 😎😆

Dude, it's going to be pretty stereotypical I know it. 😆 I mean come on...truck drivers and all...give me a break! It's TOTALLY Bend it like Beckham all the way except the opposite gender this time. 😆 And yeah even the same dad is there! 🤣

And yeah even I was going W*F spotting Akshay Kumar there! LMAO at "he just pops up at EVERY Punjabi/Sikh congregation". 🤣 SO true. He's pretty vela these days I am guessing. And he REALLY loves these kinds of movies it seems now. 😆

Well Russell Peters might just be the only saving grace of this movie I think. He def. has the comic timing obviously...he's looking okay acting wise in the trailers too. But remains to be seen whether he actually gets good scope or not. That end cop bit with the 'Mehico Sityy' was TOO Russell Peters though. I hope he gets some more original/refreshing stuff in the movie.

Anyways, I am still def. going to watch it though. :P To make fun of it if nothing else. I am sure I will be entertained regardless. 😆

Edit: Also, I find the whole "only Sikh hockey team" concept kind of lame and unconvincing. I mean if it was a general desi/brown team that'd still be a little better. As it is, it is so rare to see brown people playing hockey well. Not saying we are not capable or anything of course...but it IS rare. And that's a fact. Hockey is a white centered sport. Us desi people usually do not go into such expensive sports as hockey.

If this movie was more along the lines of one brown dude wanting to play hockey (instead of a whole brown team), it would make more sense I think. Even though that would be and even MORE obviously a Bend it Like Bekham inspiration. 😆 But there could be a story here regarding the challenges of and Indian immigrant family with an expensive and white centered sport like hockey. The movie might get into that as well I guess which would be more believable. You know, the sociology of the sport in a desi context.

But I doubt the movie gets into all that. It mostly will be the usual stereotypes and the lowe ishtory of course. 😆 And the "Speedy Singhs" 🤣 🤣 STILL can't get over that name for a hockey team! 🤣 🤣

And MAN why does it ALWAYS have to be punjabi people with these desi style sport movies? 😕😆

Yaar, even I think I should start watching Gulaal since almost everyone here is doing so 😆 but I just don't have the patience to hunt out vids online...the main reason why I still watch MB and BALH is because they come on TV and I can watch with fam. I don't get home in time to watch Gulaal on TV...sigh...excuses, I know - if someone was kind enough to post a few vids that might be interesting to watch, I could see if I will even like it...? 😳

Hmmm...

Rang Badalti Odhani and Yeh Ishq Haaye to end

Star One will bid adieu to the two shows in early August..

It's a known fact that Star One is headed for a complete revamp in September after which there will be a fresh lineup of shows that will be on air. But before that happens, there is a need for the existing shows to get to a logical end. And we hear that it will be Panglosean Entertainment's Yeh Ishq Haaye and Beyond Dreams' Rang Badalti Odhani that will shut shop first.

Our source says, "Rang Badalti Odhani which has had a good run and Yeh Ishq Haaye are slated to go off air in early August. This will be followed by Geet Hui Sabse Parayi. Though a preset date has not been fixed, the other two remaining shows Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani and Dhoond Legi Manzil Humein will also be closing down before the revamp.
Post revamp, Star One will be renamed as Star Desh. The revamp is expected to happen in the first week of September".

We tried calling Producers of Odhani and Yeh Ishq Haaye, Yash Patnaik and Rajesh Chaddha respectively, but they were not available.

Guess the countdown to bidding adieu to your favorite Star One shows has started!

It's like the Canadian version of 'Bend it like Beckham'. :P 😆 Filled with desi stereotypes and cliches galore. My brother's so excited about this. Brown people + Russel Peters + hockey? This is like the ultimate awesomeness for him. 😛😆 I want to watch just for Russel Peters more than anything else I think. And the desi-ness of course. Have to watch anything desi. :P

I just LOL-ed at the fact that Anupam Kher is in this one too! 🤣And LMAO at "Speedy Singhs" 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously?? And truck drivers! *shakes head* Aur koi profession nahin milla? And I was like W*F when Akshay Kumar showed up. Like what is he doing here types. Until I realized that he's producing this. 😆 Hmm, okay then. lol

In short, looks like it's going to be totally un-original, stereotypical and quite possibly really lame. But am I still going to go watch this with my entire family? You bet! 🤣 Just for the unintentional laughs if nothing else of course. 😆 Can always count on these hollywood/bollywood type movies for those. :P

OMG I'm actually finding this HILARIOUS! I'm SO watching it!😆😆😆...Full on masala fun...and Russell Peters yaar! Ofcourse I have to watch it...😆😆...this is like an extended movie version of "living with a brown fam"...I'm loving all the desi stereotypes ke spoofs...and the actually got two gore actors in it too...wow😆
