Oh and I just saw that garden scene of Ram-Priya's again. First time I saw it in a hurry as I was catching up on all the episodes. And all the Kekta nonsense diluted the effect of this scene for me.
But now that I saw this scene individually again...I really liked it. You know, the best thing I like about these RP interactions is how we get to see a new side to them with each new scene of theirs. It was interesting to me how Priya was so sarcastic and so intentionally making taunts at Ram in this scene. Unlike her usual teasing way of doing so. I could really relate to this actually. I know when I am upset about something, my mean/sarcastic side comes out and I lash out at people I am comfortable with. Like friends and family. This mood of Priya's was very realistic I thought. It also brought continuity to the events that happened with her that day.
But what I loved too was how Ram took it. He was so good humoured about it all. Even though at times he has those tantrums and his sensitive sides, he does have moments where he doesn't take himself too seriously. I liked how Ram just understood Priya's mood at that moment. 😆 Hence he took all her deliberate taunts so well. He was slowly making her feel lighter even I thought, by letting her take out all her inner badhaas out on him. Make him her punching bag almost. Isn't that the sweetest thing though...actually? And his good humoured side cheered her up a little too. He did manage to get through to her in a way...she was affected by his genuine apology and sentiments.
And his last "gentleman(ly)" touch did soften Priya in the end I think. It was just such an adorable touch. Ram was so genuinely sweet to Priya in this scene. Like he really wanted to understand and be considerate to what she was going through and help her feel better. Aww...I really liked these two in this scene. :)
Sigh. You are so right about this scene, Pallo - I loved it too. In fact I liked it the very first time; I guess because I had been prepared for the crapness of the rest of the episode and so I wasn't expecting much.
@blue - Exactly. I never feel like a scene of theirs is wasted, or that it is just ghusaoed in for ratings. Even the most cliched of scenes takes their equation to another level.
@red - it was very natural and exactly how I would respond. She was hurt and upset and angry and just humiliated - and Ram was a part of that. But as someone said on the forum the other day, I was glad that she blamed Ram ONLY for his part in the whole shebang and not for the whole thing. She proportioned the blame exactly to everyone, incl. herself. Even in her anger she wasn't unreasonable.
@green - totally. For the first time (apart from the balcony scene) Ram was so sensitive to Priya; he realised how much his actions had hurt her and he allowed her to take it out on him because she was right. And yes, by subtly teasing her he let her take out the sting of her anger on him and cool down. It was a lovely scene. It reminded me (as always) of PM after the rape track, when Mukti has been so hurt by Prem that she doesn't even talk to him any more. Him being the contrary person that he is, he doesn't apologise but starts the same pre-rape teasing with her, intentionally riling her up so that she fights with him about the little things, because fighting about the little things keeps her mind off the big hurts, and as far as he is concerned, at least it means she is talking to him again 😳
On MB - no, I didn't watch yesterday's ep as I was watching the Apprentice; but I read the update and it seems I didn't miss much. Devki's mahanta is beginning to annoy me now and really I want to see more development in the Charu-IMV-Chandraprabha story. I will watch today's ep though...
