And I loveee the VM...specially the starting bit with that confrontation scene. What a scene that was haina? I love how there was no angsty confession...no long prologues to it...just the simple, very simple...'kyunke main tujhse pyar karta hoon..' The simplicity of that scene took my heart away...and again note the way he looks at her there...with so much love in his eyes...and there's a look where it seems as though he himself can't believe what he's feeling, what he's saying..he looks like such a lost kid sometimes sachi...*sigh* Oh but anyway...what I was saying was that was a very nice VM, Anu...the song fit the scenes you used...good job, yaar! You should make more... Thanks, Mash! *hugs* I made the VM mainly for that first scene...the confession one...the haunting aspect of the music seemed to fit it perfectly :-)...yeah it was a fab scene...I also loved the simplicity of it...the natural way it was executed in...that is honestly what has been surprising about so many KG scenes...anyways, in this case, I also loved the way he told her, the look in his eyes like you said...as if he was still himself processing this discovery..."Yeh pyar hi hai, Gulaal"...but what really breaks my heart is the latter half after the slaps rain down on him...that entire reaction of Gulaal's was brilliantly shot...not a WORD...but the anguish in her as she slaps him and literally manhandles him😆...you know the look on Kesar's face after that first slap *sigh*...that innocent hurt...and he doesn't say anything...just lets her vent out all her anguish...very powerful scene.

Zainu, did you watch yesterday's BALH?? The garden RP scene was nice naa...I had dreaded ki there only they will start talking of their marriage but thankfully it wasn't that...lol...Priya was being so khadoos to Ram but still he took it so well...like he understood her need to lash out in whatever way.

The rest of the epi was crap with typical Kekta-ness...ughhh

Anyways, just read about the new promo too...haha so Ram WILL protest at the idea of marrying Priya...good good😆

"People are apprehensive to talk to me today"-Barun Sobti

Wednesday, June 29, 2011 | 6:14:57 PM IST (+05:30 GMT) "People are apprehensive to talk to me today"-Barun Sobti

Barun Sobti aka Arnav Sigh Raizada, the handsome and dashing businessman of Star Plus' Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon speaks about his new and differnt role to TellyBuzz...

Have you ever seen a boss like Arnav Singh Raizada who let his employee fall from his hands? Who shouts for each and everything?

Well, Star Plus' Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon gave us another angry young handsome man who is dashing and obviously business oriented.

The viewers did get a shock to see the charming and fun loving Barun Sobti in such a stone hearted character...

But after talking to Barun, TellyBuzz found out it was even more tough for him to play the role of Arnav...

Hear it from the horse's mouth...

Finally you are back after a break; how do you feel?
I feel really good that I am back.

From a flamboyant Shravan to a straight faced Arnav Singh Raizada, is it tough?
It is very tough because it takes away a lot of your energy. Though I just have to make straight face and deliver my dialogues, I have to give a lot of retakes because the character is so serious and sometimes you tend to leave the character in the midway. It is really difficult for me to keep a straight face all the time as I am not so in real. At times I burst out laughing as well.

Was it difficult to come out of the aura of Shravan?
Seriously I did not have much to do when I was playing Shravan because the character was more or less like Barun. And the atmosphere is also very relaxed. But here the team is really perfect and all eyes are on you. Gul is really a perfectionist and the whole team is bang on the target and you really cannot deviate from that point.

How is it portraying the role of an angry young man?
At times it is difficult for me to convince myself that I am playing such a tough character because people might not believe you in that character. The guy has to be really tough and has to keep his arrogance in front of his Daadi as their ideas do not match.

Does Barun have any traits of Arnav?
I believe that we all are the same and everybody has all the traits where people lose temper and behave in a weird way. Frankly, people have seen only one side of Arnav and today he is tough because there is a reason behind it. He has taken up the whole responsibility at a very young age and has seen a tough part of life.

You were not the first choice for the lead of the show, were you bothered about it?
Not at all, because Karan Singh Grover was even out of the picture when I stepped in and also I had actually started doing another show for another channel when Star Plus gave me the offer. But then I had to leave that and do this because I felt this more appealing than the other show.

How is it working with a channel like Star Plus?
I am having a fantastic experience working with Star Plus and they are precise of what they want. Gul is a Master of the Game and Nissar is also great. It's a great team altogether.

From modeling to acting, how has the journey been till date?
I have never felt modeling was part of me because I am not that kind of a person who can be straight always and walk on the ramp all the time. Commercials are really cool as it gives the best creative ideas with 30secs of time and is shot in a short period of time. But it is a hard fact that each shot that you give has to be careful because a lot of money is invested in each and every aspect of it. Serials are equally good and it gives you time to learn a lot many things like the screenplay.

Do you believe in the phrase opposites attract and did it work for you?
Yes I do believe in the phrase 'opposites attract' and it has happened to me as well. My wife and I are not exactly the same and if we had been the same, then I don't think that life would have been this fun.

Have you, at any point of life, had to put up with a person whom you hate to the core?
I don't think I can really hate someone for a long time, at least I cannot. I cannot be upset with someone for a long time.

Khushi and Arnav gaze to kill each other; how are Sanaya and you off screen?
We can get along without killing each other. We are pretty sorted out and we get along really well without any tantrums or issues.

A memorable moment from the show?
The first shot that I gave was that of my entry wherein I am getting off from a chopper. I was so excited about giving the shot and had told myself that this scene would be the best, what happened next was unexpected. There was so much wind around me because the blades were still on and I had promised myself that I would keep open my eyes for the shot. But the strong wind and the two silver reflectors in front of me forced me to shut my eyes within a minute. I had to stand there for nearly six to seven hours for the different angles and shots.

Today there is a tendency for the television shows to go off air within a few months of its commencement; your comments.
That's not happening for us because the story is yet to unfold and it will take a long time to unfold the story.

Has life changed after wedding?
Yes of course, life is sorted after marriage. Since she is also working she understands my work also.

How do you manage home and work?
Actually I do not know how, but we are managing it well.

Any fan acquaintance that you remember?
Actually I am really very reluctant to go out in public. And once it so happened that my niece wanted to go to Essel World and I really did not want to go with her but she wouldn't go without me. And finally I accompanied her with the others. After I reached there I was feeling really awkward standing near to the luggage and people staring at me. Today I notice that when I did the role of Shravan, people would come to me easily and talk to me. But today they are a little apprehensive about talking to me.

Your show is already on air, what are your expectations?
I am hoping to get good scenes to bring out the best in me for the audience. I know there is no point in asking the audience to watch the show, unless there is something unique to be shown to them. And I know that if we do good work people will definitely watch it.

^He can't keep a stern face.😆 lol
lol he's just got himself in to a majorly stereotyped role that brings a lot of attention, something that he's not used to and not comfortable with.😆

I am sure, this article might have been written by someone associated with the show's forum😕😆This looks quite immature and lame!I find all these articles in this site really weird. The television articles center around shows I have never heard of and the bollywood articles appear after around 5-6 days😆😕

Hear it from the horse's mouth...

Finally you are back after a break; how do you feel?
I feel really good that I am back.

From a flamboyant Shravan to a straight faced Arnav Singh Raizada, is it tough?
It is very tough because it takes away a lot of your energy. I thought its quite easy for him to keep a straight face given the fact that this guy doesnt know to act!😆So where IS the difficulty in keeping a straight face?😕

WHAT?😲KSG was first offered this role?

Your show is already on air, what are your expectations?

What actually is unique in this show?😕The show looks almost similar to that Geet show, the only difference being Geet's Babaji and Khushi's Mata rani!🥱

I'll go and check the number of comments in this article😆Must have crossed 300 by now :P

Hello everyone :) ( Hope I can go beyond saying a mere hello today in the CC discussions😆 :P Uff,I hate work :( )

Heyy Reshmi!

LOL yes KSG was offered this role at one point when they were still in conceptualizing stages I think...but then dil ka daaactar went on to do some movie shovie it seems...haha

You know Barun as a guy doesn't seem that bad...a little dumb but ok...lol...but seriously his answers about his difficulty with being "serious" for this character really cracked me up...haha

Honest advice to him would be to work on his dialogue delivery...that is his biggest problem...his comic timing is good otherwise.

And yes this show is like a FRAME TO FRAME copy of Geet...lol...not that the office romance in Geet was all path breaking to begin with but this show is like quite an OBVIOUS rip off of EVERY situation and character...Khushi is TOO similar to Geet with all the hyperness...and this dude is supposed to be all typical khadoos types as usual...lol...except he can't act much...haha

Hey Anu :) how are you?

I just read the article again😆so he did some other show as well before Iss pyaar?

Seriously speaking, even if this is a copy of Geet,I will prefer watching this show over the trashload of nonsense shown in that Geet show and that Mahi Mahi background music! It just puts me off!🥱I have a victim in my home already-a self confessed Geet bhakt😆I just hope my sister doesnt start watching this show as well!😆

Btw speaking of trashload of nonsense,I was watching this new movie -Always kabhi kabhi on TV yesterday...Can't imagine that Bollywood is still stuck in seeing lecturers teaching Romeo-Juliet in English classes!😕

I dont know why,but I feel Shahrukh is really losing his charm day by day :( I have no hopes on that Ra.one movie too. :(
