I'm very very strict with my nieces n nephews with tv, movies, games, internet etc, parental control is a must and a time limit also essential! The internet especially is so so dangerous, so many ppl with wrong intentions posing as kids in chat rooms etc! Facebook privacy is questionable too! Maybe I'm just old n set in my ways and need to "take a chill pill" a term used often by the kids, a term that makes me see red!!
Btw WBL my two faves got eliminated so I'm not gonna bother with final next week!

Omg don't get me started, discipline starts from parenting...if the basics aren't put into play a child will not develop that self discipline!! Yes they will learn right from wrong but not without initial guidance!
I see the horrific consequences of free reigns...n the parents then paloo chad and say their kids turned out to be disappointments...when they should take responsibility a lot earlier!! To say "I wash my hands of them, they are out of control"....is disgraceful and if they had been more hands on when the kids were of an impressionable age then we wouldn't have a world full of delinquents and young offenders!!
I could go on and on about this topic but won't...as my views are very old school...my house / home is often used as a "borstal / young offenders" institute for kids in the family who believe they are above the law of the land and also the simple rules of life...like respect for mums dads siblings ....it doesn't make me very popular with the kids but it certainly makes their parents lives easier!!

nah dude. free reign and for kids? it won't turn out well. just my opinion though. ur entitled to urs. lol.

i think a better option would to be a "guide" in your child's life rather than dictate what to do and what not to, especially when it comes to their careers.
