Yeah, although the trailers look good we can't know until the show airs. But I am still more excited for this show than anything else thats on TV right now...simply because the concept itself is so different. I hope it will get the right treatment as well...

Dutta singing toh chalo still just makes me laugh now....and he wasn't exactly dancing around in the party unlike "not so drunk" Nakku....even then the way the precap started with him singing "PYAAAAAAR" is seriously🤣....but Baaji was acting like a total RETARD in that scene....and I don't think anything can justify that....it was a very poorly written pretentious scene.

I have to ask....you can't even sense the MAJOR inconsistencies and randomness going on in the show since the past three epis?? Seriously?? Yeh "ek aadh" consistency nahin chal rahi right now....I'm waiting to see WHEN this leads to something cohesive....otherwise these ppl are just doing timepass these days with all kinds of randomness going on.

Shobhna Desai Productions, makers of the cult show Hamari Devrani will be coming up with a new show on COLORS, titled Mukti Bandhan. The show is being written by popular Writer Vipul Mehta, who has earlier penned for shows like Koshish Ek Aasha, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kasturi, Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka to name a few.

The promo of the show is presently on air, and speculations are ripe that Mukti Bandhan is loosely based on the story of Dhirubhai Ambani. However, our source from the industry clarifies that the story is adapted from a very popular Gujarati Novel written by Harkisan Mehta, titled Mukti Bandhan.

Our source tells us, "The production house has bought rights to convert the novel into a daily soap. The story is about the clash of ideologies, and is about a self-made man Ishwarlal Motilal Virani".

"Shiv Subramaniam who is a famous writer in Bollywood with films like Parinda, Teen Patti, 1942 A Love Story to his credit will play the central character of I.M. Virani. Former South Indian actress and theatre artist Surbhi Zaveri will play his wife. Noted actors, Utkarsh Majumdar and Meenal Patel essay vital roles in the show".

Mukti Bandhan sees the comeback of Raj Singh of Pavitra Rishta fame in a lead role.

"Siddharth Arora, a new face will play the elder son of I.M. Virani while Raj Singh will play his younger son. Yohana Vachhani, daughter of veteran actor Ajit Vachhani plays the daughter, and Ekta Saraiya who essays the role of Shikha in Hamari Devrani will play the bahu of the house", adds our source.

"Noted Director Ramesh Talwar who has directed movies like Noorie, Basera etc will be seen playing a vital role. Esha Kansara, a theatre artist from Ahmedabad has a key role to play.Nazneen Patel who was last seen in Sahara One's Main Aisi Kyun Hoon will also be part of the show", informs our source.

We hear that there will be about 17 prominent characters seen in Mukti Bandhan, and the focus will be on multi-tracking.

The story is about Ishwarlal Motilal Virani who is not a God fearing man and rather believes in his abilities to become successful in life. His life takes a major turn when a young girl from London, played by Esha Kansara comes into his life and changes his outlook towards life.

We tried talking to Shiv Subramaniam, but he remained unavailable. Raj Singh too was unavailable for comment.

Nazneen Patel though confirmed her presence in the show.

Mukti Bandhan is expected to launch on January 10th at the 9.30 PM slot on COLORS

LMAO! Baaji's Jashn-e-Mohabbat was seriously lame! 🤣 and I totally agree with you, Baaji was behaving very weird and that whole scene was kinda W*F-ish! And exactly!! Even though you told me Dutta would be singing, when I first saw him singing that song.. I burst out laughing and I'm like whaaaa!? 🤣

I'm reeeeeally looking forward to this Mukti Bandhan show but I have no idea about any of these actors playing these roles so can't really say.. 😆 But omg, 17 prominent characters? and multi-tracking.. ? Will they be able to show it properly? 😕 Indian shows don't really show these separate tracks equally.. Oh well, lets see..

Yeah exactly....even I had read about Dutta's singing but watching the precap with that Pyaaaaaaaaar bit in the starting especially had me ROFL...lol.....just read Fivr's post about this in the forum....seems like her love for the original song makes her more biased towards liking this waise hi :P......like I replied to someone in the ED post....the singing is gimmicky...someone posed the argument that Dutta plays a harmonica so he obviously has an artistic soul inside him so why can't he sing?....but I feel there's a difference....a harmonica suits his silent, brooding type of personality....SINGING is gimmicky...I feel this was just thrust into the show for the sake of timepass gimmicks....wasn't really needed.....even then I guess MR will manage to salvage it somehow cuz he's in full on Amitabh Bacchan mode....lol....but i honestly would rather that something worthwhile comes out of the aftermath of this or there is no point....and I'm getting a bit tired of nothing worthwhile coming out of all these scenarios they are building up like DNB landing together at the cliff and NOTHING of significance happened.

Re: Mukti Bandhan....yeah it's a big cast....there really isn't much precedent in Indian TV of them managing to handle a big cast well....let's see....story on paper is quite interesting....hope the treatment is too. They have a good leading cast it seems.

Anddddd I watched kal raat ka full epi of JDJ.....

Renuka's elimination was sad....she really is such a sweet person....loved what she said about Jai and what Jai said about her....awww....she felt bad for him that he didn't get a proper dancer as a partner or he'd have won....it's so true though....he could easily win this show if he had a well matched partner...very talented choreographer.

On a lighter note...yay the boxer is still there! LOL.....Mahi's reactions to being in the bottom two...lol.....she was damn worried....but she should stop being delusional about winning the show....nahin hone waala :P.....

Anyways performances....Ragini's act was soooo freakin hilarious....my entire family was in splits while watching it....lol....dunno if that was really traditional south indian folk but Ragini was in her fullllllllll element.....bindaas crazy expressions and dancing....haha....but it was nice to finally see her getting appreciation and high scores....this style really suited her for the first time since JDJ started. Dunno if the act was worth a 30 though....but chalo oh well.

Shekhar's act was blahh....he needs to be eliminated next.....Chang was pretty good....liked the choreography and he is deffo improving each week.....Daya and Vrushali were quite cute too....he's improving as well....I think he did a pretty good job for a guy who probably had no clue about Bhangra before this....and I have to also agree that he deserved higher scores....the scoring is pretty inconsistent for sure....even Ankita deserved atleast a 27 or 28....

Aray, I like this song a lot too, but somehow this just doesn't make sense.. And lol playing a harmonica and singing is definitely different.. Dutta has always been this silent type character and harmonica playing kinda suited him but singing is too umm, flamboyant-ish? 😕 Lol I don't know how to say but well, singing is not Dutta, not for me at least and you as well, it seems! 😆 and lol and I think they're kinda doing time pass like you said.. Hopefully they show something good soon..

Aww yes, Renuka saying that about Jai was true. He is a good choreographer and dancer from what I've seen and well yeah, he would have gone much far in the competition if not won it.. Lol @ the boxer being there.. He's hilarious na? 😆

Well that performance of Ragini's was totally her.. nautanki, masti.. She gave it her best and since it was all hilarious and she was fabbbb in it, they got a 30.. Oh well.. Daya I felt got tired in between and fumbled, that's why the cut the scores.. I found the scoring okay in that but yeah Ankita should have got more..

I'm looking forward to today's episode.. Sushant and Yana's performances and Akhil's antics.. 😆

@bold: Worddd....exactly....Singing is too flamboyant to suit Dutta as a character.

I can understand to a certain extent that they are trying to showcase the turmoil and pain of the character but it would have been so much better to just use this song in the bg with flashbacks or something while we see the pain in his eyes and expressions and all.....but abhi this singing tends to become a tamasha even though it's relatively underplayed compared to how it would have been shown in other shows in an OTT manner.
