NANJUNDI - Review Cast: Shivaraj Kumar, Debina, Umashri, Lokesh, Doddanna, Kari Basavaiah Music: Hamsalekha Producer : Ramu Screenplay, Direction : S R Brothers It has been weeks that we saw some sane film in Sandalwood. NANJUNDI the latest release has everything, which would please the audiences. Good music, tight screen play, excellent cinematography makes NANJUNDI a winner. Nanjundi is a village lad loved by everyone for his good nature. He lives with his mother who is a kind of a village doctor. Enters our leading lady. Unlike our hero she is not the one to help out others. Nanjundi and she are like chalk and cheese. Thus begins a fight, which lands Nanjundi in the jail. Amidst all this the village faces drought. One fine day our hero is banned from entering the village. Yeah you have heard this story before, but here the treatment is different. Shivaraj Kumar has excelled once again in performance. Looks like the role is tailor made for him. Umashri's role as a mother is really heart wrenching. Though at times she over acts. Heroine Debina needs to improve a lot. Kari Basavaiah, Dodanna and Lokesh have lent adequate support. Musically the film is good. Hamsalekha has once again given melodious tunes. There are three songs, which stand out in the lot. Cinematography by Suresh Babu is good. Overall the film is a good one. Could call it a total paisa vasool.
