Here is the first of my 'Angad @ Ravan's Court' siggies I plan to make sometime thing week.😛 Hope you like it...and feel free to use! It made it really quick so it is not very good, but hope you like it.😳

Replies coming, first just wanted to put up the translations to the Shanti Doot Angad song Deeps was awesome enough to type up for us (only like 1 correction, awesome job yaar 👏)... but let me start with the songs that play as Angad is instructed by Shri Ram and when he first enters Lanka. I really really really love both because the first gives such a great lesson to modern leaders, that power doesn't mean wreaking havoc on the rest of the world and that Shri Ram proved real strength is in promoting peace and forgiveness whenever possible. Perfect way to convey a timeless message. And the 2nd song has the most awesome music, and it's really well written too with all those metaphors, but mainly loved it as a kid for the music... balle balle 😆 Here's the vid and lyrics:

Shanti sandesha Ram ka le jaao Yuvraj

Take Ram's message of peace, o prince

Ek avsar do shatru ko, veerochit yeh kaaj

Give the enemy another chance, as a true warrior should

Taking with him Ram's peaceful messege, the messenger of peace proceeded

Asat, adharm, aneeti ke gadh mein kiya pravesh

He entered into the core of the untruthful, the unrighteous, and the unethical

Mahashaktin ko yeh dhyaan rahe, prithvi pe vritha vidhwans na ho

So that the world's great powers always be careful that no unneeded destruction occurs

Koi na akaalya mare jag mein, aur vansh koi nirvansh na ho

That no one dies an untimely death, that no families are torn apart

Ko neeti aneeti mein bhed kare, yadi Ram sareekho hans na ho

Who would know the difference between right and wrong, if not for the swanlike* Ram?

Prithvi dhas jaaye rasaatal mein, prithvi pe jo dharm ko ansh na ho

The earth would be thrust into the netherworlds if a piece of righteousness did not dwell in it

*Swanlike because in traditional desi lit the swan represents discretion and can choose a pearl among pebbles - the antonym would be a crow.

Raakshason ke dal beech Angad chala hai aise, nirbhay singh jaise haathiyon ke dal mein

Angad has come between the demons like a fearless lion charging through a herd of elephants

Saahas apaar liye, Ram ka adhaar liye, kud pade jaise koi saagar atal mein

Taking unlimited courage and the support of Shri Ram's name, he dove in as one would in a vast, deep ocean

Ruke na kisi ke roke, badhta hi chala jaaye, surya ka prakaash jaise ghane jangal mein

He wouldn't stop as hard as they tried to make him, he just moved onwards like sunlight piercing through dense trees in the jungle

Ramji ki sena mein hai bade bade yoddha, par Angad sa ek na vivek, buddhi, bal mein

Shri Ram's army has great warriors, but none matches Angad in conscience, wisdom, and strength combined

Now the songs from when he's actually in Ravan's court...

Angad ne kahin dekho nahin aiso raja, asabhya aneeti ko shaasan

Nowhere had Angad seen such a king, uncultured and unethical in conduct

Tinahun lok ke raja ke doot ko baithan ko nahin det jo aasan

The king of the three realms has sent a messenger, and he can't even give him a seat

Aag lagi Angad ke ang mein, sun abhimaan bhare sambhaashan

Fire raged in Angad's limbs, hearing his arrogant speech

Poonchh bina kahi poochh na hoti, so daari liyo nij poonch ko aasan

For having a tail he was not given respect, and so he used the tail itself as a seat

Samjhi prataap Ram kapi kopa, sabha maanjh pann kari pad roka

With the power of Ram, the fierce vaanar made a vow and plated his foot amidst the assembly

"Jo mam charan sakasi sath taari, phirahi Ram, Sita main haari"

"Oh fool, if you can move my foot then surely Ram will leave in defeat, considering Sita lost for good"

Gadh gayo khambh hamaaro, himmat hoye to y'aahe ukhaado

My pillar is in place, if you have the guts knock it over

Angad beech sabha mein thaaro, bole Ramji ki jai!

Angad proclaimed amidst the assembly, saying "Glory to Shri Ram!"

Ek ek yoddha aave, apni saari shakti lagaave

The warriors come one by one, using up all of their strength

Pag nahin dige, veer muskaave, bole Ramji ki jai!

His foot doesn't shake, the brave warrior smiles and says "Glory to Shri Ram!"

Indrajeet aadhik balwaana, harashi uthe jehi tehi bhat nana

Indrajeet and the other warriors got up enthusiastically, countless were they

Satya nahin dole jaise satyavanti naari ko, mann nahin dige jaise sadhu brahmachari ko

As a virtuous woman's loyalty is never swayed, as a saintly ascetic's heart never gives in to temptation

Atal vishwaas jaise prabhu ke pujaari ko, pag hai atal yun Angad baldhaari ko

As God's devotee dwells in unshakable faith, so unshakable is the foot of strong Angad

Sabha achambhit saari, aiso nahin dekho prandhaari

The whole court is shocked, never having seen anyone with such resolve

Yaako Ram bharoso bhaari, bole Ramji ki jai!!

He really has faith in Ram, and he says "Glory to Shri Ram!"
