I watched the video of Rati's TB interview last night......while there were some contradictory bits regarding the truth of why she's left this show.....otherwise she was quite sweet in the interview.....she really isn't one for diplomacy though....lol....and I can see why a lot of her statements are being interpreted as 'arrogance' ....noticed that being mentioned in the comments section a lot....lol
Rati said that she is a very confident individual just like Nupur and she'll definitely be back with a bang and she will trump Nupur as well....even though Nupur has her own place in the minds of the audience now....later on, she mentioned that she wants to do a show where she is able to display her talent and not have to run around in the bheed of 4-5 'leads' in a show....(not so subtle dig....haha)....Rati comes across as an intelligent and very self-assured person who knows her mind and speaks it....very to the point about a lot of things....she takes acting very seriously and doesn't have patience for frivolity it seems....(LOL that did come across many times in those off-screen ArTi etc. interviews she's done over the years too)....It seemed to me that she's a person who did her work and didn't do any phukri cheezein beyond that.....like she obviously had a rapport with everyone but not of the sort where she'd do timepass vellapanti all the time....in this interview toh she didn't even mention anyone apart from Arjun when the question was asked and she said that he didn't know or have anything to do with her exit....'he's just an actor doing his job'...her exact words....lol.
She referred to Nupur as a 'legend' many times and obviously takes quite a lot of pride in the fact that she got to play this character and how popular it ultimately became....at one point, she proudly also says that she loves the fact that season two came to be only cuz of Nupur...her death and that even now it's Nupur and her memories that permeate so much of it....lol
Her fans and their fanaticism seems to flatter as well as amuse her as she points out that she's received fanmails abusing the creatives etc.....she was laughing and at the same time telling her fans not to do all this....I dunno if she was serious....lol.
Rati seems to be a person with a strong sense of individuality even if she knows how to make it work in a team....I got the sense a lot in this interview that she yearns to get a solo lead role where she is able to portray her talent to the fullest without having to deal with screen-space issues etc....which was obviously a big issue for Nupur and MN in this show many times. Also she yearns for an intelligently written out role and script.....she was lamenting about the state of Indian TV and saying that her sensibilities don't identify with the shows on TV right now....including MJHT I think.....lol....I think she's hoping she gets a movie role.....
She's a fan of Ratan Rajput....lol....proudly mentioned that she's from her hometown of Patna as well....Ratan is indeed a MINDBLOWING actress....I'm a fan for sure....she's brilliant as Laali.....Rati said she wants to work with her in the future sometime....I think it would be amazing to see two such talented actresses together in the same show.
Overall, Rati seems to be relaxed and breathing a sigh of relief in some ways yet she seems to be a bit sad and feeling bittersweet as well....I guess the attachment to the character is bound to be there.
But from the looks of it, MJHT seems to be a closed chapter for her now....and I'm so glad to hear that from her own mouth.....I hope she gets a great new role to play soon that is truly deserving of her talent which she's been wasting in MJHT since so long.
