The sun has set to leave a purple sky

The stream's water softly gurgling by

Petals of flowers have begin to close

I sit by idly in gentle repose.

I thought as my pencil tapped on my chin

My fingers played with weeds that were thin

My mind tumbling hurriedly to find

Words that were generous and kind ......

The moon arose silently scattering shimmer on the sea

A brood of swallows flying south were cackling with glee

Earnest they seemed as they flapped their long wings

I watched from my doorstep, enchanted by those things.

Far away they seemed to fly disappearing one by one

Into the dark night, way beyond the fading horizon

The breeze gently blew and my skirts gently swished

I hope time returns with all the joy that I had wished...........
