ke yaqeen me badle mera gumaan

My translation of the above.................

Oh Lord,

Who but you would understand my plight?

How my heart shrank before such might

You have been a witness that ghastly night

What happened to me when reason took flight….

How should I begin to say

About the wrong that came my way

How should I even express

The real cause of my distress

How should I then confide?

When there is no one by my side

For me there's no one here

No one close and no one dear

Truth was easily deemed a lie

I was silent, with no words nor cry

The loneliness and the grief

Became my life's pattern in brief……

I am an insignificant particle of no hue

No mark, no substance and no value.

I'd walk the empty paths of daybreak

And the wilted evenings my eyes would take

Often the tears remained till I did wake

As I reminisced for old time's sake

Yet there is hope even though momentary

As surely God would abide with me.

No complaint came forth from me

No grievance of how life was to me

No groan nor moan not even a sigh

My heart did not lament or cry.

I am an insignificant particle of no hue

No mark, no substance and no value.

What is it that I should seek?

More endurance to face the bleak

A shroud of memories to enfold me

A familiar ache to fulfil me

Enough space in my heart for pain

If only I could see you again

And my world would be full of tranquillity

A haven for serenity

No room for protest or hostility

I need no illusions, for this is reality

I am an insignificant particle of no hue

No mark, no substance and no value.
