Celebration of marriage is everything but a celebration in the true sense. Why do people hold colossal ceremonies in 5 star hotels ? To show their financial status to the society. Occassions like marriage are oppurtunities for people to show off. Right from the ladies who come over loaded with jewelry to the people who organise the wedding, it's all about show off. Show me some moolah, baby 😉

This is very true, Neeta, and more prevalent in the desi societies. It's all about how much you spent on the wedding, and how many jewels the bride was adorned in. It's not really abuot celebration of love, because you could celebrate love and the union of two people by simply holding a ceremony in your house, and amongst your love ones. I remember my aunt telling me about a wedding she went to, where 'gold jewelery' was laid out on table in pounds. She was gloating about it as if woman getting married had won a Nobel Prize. Yeah, that's fantastic, that they have a table full of jewels, while there's people in the world starving for a piece of f**king loaf.

Oh I'll try to watch Pulp fiction since I have two week holiday :D and will write my reviews.
I feel Vanilla Sky is most definitely not for everyone. This is one of the best examples I know of a film that you will either despise or become completely obsessed with. I will never again be able to hear those opening chords of "Good Vibrations" without immediately thinking of the scene from Vanilla Sky.
Thank you! :D

Mannu, I want to discuss the references to Foxy Brown etc, but I'm at work right now, and can't reply in details. Do remind me when Im' not at work, and I'll be happy to discuss this :) OMG, you KNOW who Akira Kurosawa is? Dude, he's one of the most AMAZING filmmakers in the entire world. Have you seen 'Seven Samurai'???

As for Vanilla Sky (again, we need to discuss this in length, when I'm not at work), I find the film to be extremely beautiful, and one that is severely underrated. The ending sequence, with the 'Nothing Song' (by Sigor Ros) playing in the background, is both eerie and incredibly beautiful. Cameron Crowe has excellent choices when it comes to music (seeing as how he was part of a band and followed Rolling Stones).

I'm thinkinnnnnnnnnnnnn of good vibrations….she's givin' me expectations :)

Just a reminder that please don't bash members who are not part of your CC. You have nothing to do with them and they have nothing to do with you so quit bringing them in here. Also, PLEASE do not post someone's personal information on a public forum. What happened in the past is history so don't repeat the same mistake as others.
Thank you and carry on =)

HA ha, thanks Angelic_J.

Ankit, your experiment worked. 😆 I'm just amazed by the speed of the results you were anticipating.
