MUMBAI: Colors is set to launch an advertiser funded programme (AFP) 'Idea Rocks India 4,' starting 27 September.
Produced by Encompass, Idea Rocks… is a 13-episodic nationwide hunt for the best musicians, instrumentalists and singers from across the country.
The hunt for the best musical band will air on Sundays at 8-9 pm.
Telecom major Idea Cellular is the presenting sponsor of the show.
For the last three seasons, 'Idea Rocks India' was a rock concert. But this year, it has been specially crafted to discover the talent.

Colors CEO Rajesh Kamat says, "Our relationship with Idea goes a long way as they have partnered with us earlier for our show Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi for two innings. Interestingly, MTV, the youth entertainment channel from the umbrella company Viacom18, is also launching a similar show, Kurkure Desi Beats Rock On, in a bid to look out for a desi rock band.
Idea Rocks India 4 will allow contestants of 18 years and above to participate in the music talent hunt show which will encompass all genres of music including western, Indian and others. The auditions are to be held in 10 cities - Bangalore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune, starting 2 September.

The jury of the show comprises male playback singer Shaan, and singer and actor Vasundhara Das, besides other judges from the film, music and entertainment fraternity. The show will be anchored by Karan Singh Grover.
Selected candidates from the audition round will get to become part of a band, based on the musical synergies of individuals. These bands will then play, sing and compete to become the 'Baap of All Bands'.
The show will have a weekly process of voting and elimination leading to the mega challenge round with live performances by the finalists in malls and clubs, culminating into the grand finale. The winning band will get an opportunity to record its own music album with a music production house.
Encompass Events MD Roshan Abbas said, "We will find desi tunes and desi dudes with attitude at the Idea Rocks India this time."
