I don't disagree with that. But is it bad that I do feel discomfort when I see two people like Mickey Rourke and Sean Penn, who have both been wife-beaters acting like bros at the Oscars. Sean Penn is a great actor, but he personally irritates me. It doesn't mean I can't appreciate his work. And I love Woody Allen's films, but I do also think about the icky factor of his love life. So I do watch their films, but I do think about their personal lives. The girl who plays Peggy on my favorite drama Mad Men is said to be involved with Scientology and that disappoints me, but it doesn't mean I don't love her work.
So I do agree that art and personal lives are separate. But when you are a public figure, your life is on display. And I hate the people, who dislike Katherine Heigl because of her interviews. To be honest, I don't have a strong opinion of her, but the ones, who vehemently hate her because she is outspoken annoy me.

I never knew that Sean Penn was a wife beater, or what Katherin Heigl has said in her interview (btw, she's so damn hot! I mean, did you SEE her in the Ugly Truth?! Va va voom!)... I guess I'm not into celeb gossip, or what they do in their personal lives. You're right, they do live under the microscope, and their lives are on display for us to judge, and yes, we do form opinions about them outside their professional sphere, but I have never let the affect my film viewing. I hate Saif Ali Khan, because he was such an asswipe in real life, but I've never boycotted a film, and I've never let the fact cloud my judgement of his performances. I am still going to be watching LAK, as well as visiting Omkara and Parineeta.
He beat Madonna when they were married, and I think he was found guilty of assault charges. It is said that he tied her up with rope I think to a chair. It happened way back in the 80s and everyone forgets. By the way, Josh Brolin has also been involved with some domestic violence too. In an interview, she was asked if Knocked Up was sexist, and she said it was a bit. All of the Judd Appatow fanboys came out of the work, and Seth Rogen even got pissed at her if I remember correctly. She is amazing. I so agree; so pretty. Some of the hate I think comes because her character on Grey's is annoying. By the way, I love those performances of Saif's. You need to watch Maqbool so much better than Omkara, okay? It is AMAZING.
I know tons of people who boycotted The Pianist, because Roman Polanski was a molester. I couldn't even bother to argue about how friggin' NARROW-MINDED that was. 'Oh well, I'm not gonna see it, because then I'll be supporting him'...*facepalm* .... I don't care if he's a murderer or a molester, art is art, and it should be enjoyed for the sole purpose of art. Besides, The Pianist is one of the best films I've ever seen. I feel bad for the people who didn't watch it, because the film didn't entertain their fragile mentality. Coz they sure as hell missed out on one helluva film! That is sad. To be honest, I would rather see his movies from Blockbuster, but if what Roman Polanski did was very very disgusting. So I do see his films, but the documentary about it makes it sounds so vile, so I don't watch his movies in the theater. The Pianist was a beautiful film for sure; no doubts about that. Now, I don't feel bad. I mean it is hard for me to listen to Chris Brown songs when I work out to be honest. It sucks.:(

I guess everyone is different, I suppose, but I personally can't stand people who essay the notion of boycotting films just because A SINGLE part of the film; actor, director, writer, whoever, did/said something stupid in real life. The stuff about Penn and Brolin definetely shapes up my opinion about their personal lives, but I really could care less. I'm not obsessed with them to be affected by what they say or do in real life, and it still doesn't change my opinion. I will still watch a Sean Penn film in a theater, most probably on its opening day, because no action of his deriving out of his personal life can ever change the fact that he's one of the best actors of our generation.

I just thought it was beyond pathetic, when people said that they wouldn't watch a Tom Cruise, or a John Travolta film because they were was crazy. 'Oh, they should leave their religion at home'...right. And you forgot your brain at home.

Oh for sure, Soha, Sean Penn happens to be one of my favorite actors, and I have watched so many of his films in the theater. Milk, I saw opening weekend. And I have also seen many John Travolta and Tom Cruise films in theaters. I could care much less about their personal life when the quality of work is great.:D

Yep. Plus, publicity, publicity, and even more publicity. Besides if the Mom says the daughter didn't invite me, and the daughter says parents are not coming, then technically both do not look bad. In some people's eyes her parents are lying, while in other people's eyes Rakhi is lying.

Zainab, let's start now.

Can I borrow Punji alarm clock? That would help me. I'm like a sleeping beauty. Alarms don't work for me.
